"New Friend" vs. "Board Regular"...

As a newbie to the Water Cooler, I get tagged with "New Friend" next to my handle. After a while I think I get upgraded to "Board Regular." But I've seen other people with hundreds (even thousands!) of posts who have unique (and often strange) taglines. "Chief Toilet Trainer of Pigeons." :huh "Keeper of the folded waterproof tarp." :wha How does one earn these prestigious titles?

Ah, a question often asked by those relatively new to the Cooler.

Strange and unique titles such as my own, are bestowed upon us at her whim by she-who-rules-us-all, Jenna Glatzer, better known as Absolutewrite, the founder and Grand Poobah of the Water Cooler.

She is currently up to her ears in writing-type work, but at some time in the not too distant future, I'm sure she will turn her attention to the strange and unique and as yet unnamed among us and title them accordingly.

PS - a Board Regular you become, after 50 posts.

As for pigeons and such...

Be careful what you wish for. Jenna has a way of giving you just the opposite. :ack

And then there are those of us who lost are nifty titles to an EZBoard glitch and Jenna hasn't had time to correct it yet. *double sniff* Adding fancy titles is a time intensive process, I'm led to understand, and Jenna also likes to get them just right.

Just remember the old adage, be careful what you wish for...

Welcome, G.Wayne! I was a "New Friend" until I reached 100 posts, now I'm just a "Board Regular." I really, really, really would love an interesting title, but.... Anyway, it'd probably be: "One Who Doesn't Make Herself Clear." <sigh> I tend to cause a lot of people to scratch their heads when I post something. Then I have to go back and edit, then I have to explain myself. I tend to hit the "add reply" button too fast and don't check my post first. People on these boards are great.

Anyway, welcome!

Wow! I imagined that there was this whole series of preordained levels to acheive, and then finally, at some point around 1000 posts, a window pops up and you get to type in your own eternal subtitle.
