So surf do I on these boards
and never more partake
well maybe just a little bit
when I see Rivana's name

She has told us that
she is dark of heart
and her poetry does sometimes
be dark, be deep, from inside the shadows
yet sunbeams flick inside as well.

Though her smile is secret
I am sure I know
that when Rivana smiles
it makes cold hearts jump and glow

So this I tell you friend or foe
the truth is when she smiles or frowns
you do not have to wonder why
if real if feigned or trite
our Rivana writes her truth and so
she lets us share her heart her soul!

yet dear Rivana smiles in light!

so sorry G beat me to it but it was nice to write one about Rivana so I am glad dispite my late night fright!

that writes and wears his soul aloud

to share his bright and witty chits

Daves, some days
are just like you.
They live and love
and laugh like you do.
Other days our Daves
feel down -
lost the sparkle,
lost the crown.
But every day
our Dave will be
the best of gentlemen
you'll see.
Daves are meant
for writing out
the things that others
only talk about.
Be it darker than the night,
be it brighter than the light
Dave will say what's on his mind -
and even if you're blind,
you'll see, in time
Daves are great
to have around.

Some days
life is simple
it's easy to slide across
ice that is freshly smoothed

Twenty-four hours hold
so much possibility

Some days
life is arduous
unseen creases catch a toe
knees crash against crystal cool

Twenty-four hours carry
so much turbulence

Some hearts
project fortitude
anticipating need
defining purpose

Some stories
give hope
borrowing joy
until a new day dawns

Twenty-four hours hold
so much promise
in the utterings of
our Troubadour

Ah, muse of fire tumultous bred,
Glance but on our pens, they catch aflame
A circle of poetry crowns thy head
Speaking forth their prose when you do speak your name

And from thy eyes spark thunderous rains
Falling with inspiring dew towards the ground
Moistening every writer's thirsty veins
With heated inspiration's heady wounds

Still walk thou here, soft and serene
And leave not thy humble followers
But stay most, thou muse and queen
With P.H. Dellarran, thy words be hers

And with this plea my humble sonnet ends
That muse with muse should be friends.

delicate flavored heat
of warm spiced
words,
liquid coolness
of metaphor, dripping
like icicles in spring
tantalizing tingles
top them;
her alliterations.
her poetry,
a tasty treat.

Most are content
with obvious beauty,
a bronzing leaf
a well formed rose
pretty images in a poem;
Nature’s prizes on display

Who turns the leaf
And traces the veins
Intricate pipelines
Carrying vital essence

Who plucks the petals
And caresses the delicate Stamen
Admiring its carnal purpose

Who studies the missing words
And sees the Poet’s heart
Knowing what could have been said

Who gives to us a gilded mirror
Magically reflecting
her own caste of beauty
onto our image

P H D
three syllables open to intepretation
Philosophical Doctor of letters?

letters sifting down lightly
sparkling consonants coating ideas
vowels voice their jewelled tones

letters Piled Higher and Deeper
in drift upon drift of meaning
wonderland of words brought to life

Davids is creepy that's true
But there's something that only he knew
Submerge him in water
So cold that he oughter
Freeze, then he'll only turn blue.

Maggie knits books into language
makes sense of the ball of yarn
that yearns to be a sweater,
takes knitted hieroglyphics
and arms her readers with needles
deadly, to carve their new knowledge
into eventualities of warmth.

lost in headspace
clasped-hand steeple
and a bow
to the word wizard -
moonshine moodswings
memory maker,
melancholy master.
Poet Sensei.
He is a weaver
with threads of magic
and light
the taste of flight,
winged and wicked.
His readers lose the line
between own truth
and the one he created;
wrapped in cloak,
new word wishes,
soaked in ether
of what lies between
and placed
in the heart;
disguised as
repressed memory,
new thought and
same feeling;
voodoo dejavu.
stand straight
and smile
when he takes
your hand
with no fear
as he leads you
to cliff's edge.
Hold tight,
breathe in
let your full lungs burn!
jump
and fly.

if she knew
how simple
and how perfect
she is
she would be
simply perfect

dclary, dclary,
i bet you think
this poem is about you.
You're a swell guy
i know this to be true,
but the heaven above you,
the wondrous angel
with the glowing wingspan
of doves--
she's the one I want to praise.
Trishka tells a tale
in poetics strong enough
to knock the socks
off the dead--dclary is swell
but Trishka forces tears
to trace this aging poet's
blushing cheeks.
So, Clary-D, have your day,
dance if you may, or wish,
just wave
to the one above you
along the way--
she's my poison
for today.

KTC and DClary

for the smile
and soul
in the words today
i can only say,
thank you both,
you shining and true,
wordsmiths for
the sweets you've given me.
I'm blessed to have
your good opinions
and cherish
the words
you offered to me.
So in return,
I give
a bow
and wink
to
my sensei
and
a wave
and boo
to
my ghost.

and smile our boo boo's away!

A blushing lobster is a delicious thing
Flaming red crustacean
Hides sweet white pearlescent flesh
Trembling with desire
I lay aside my pick and cracker
Delay my gratification until after the next poem is complete

Maggie knit my heart together
for it truly needs your skill and care
it sometimes feels like taffy pull
till your sweet kraft
fulfills the pull

He wears a lobster,
red,
lets it say
he's crusty
rusty,
but I believe
our lobster friend
is red
because his heart
is on his sleeve.
courageous.
thoughtful.
honest
and the red one
blushes pink
when a kind word
is sent his way.
