And pretty darned good nectar it is, too!

I'm just sitting here waiting for the laundry to get done. I have another hour to go on one load, and I still have two more loads to do. No one else is doing any laundry right now so I'm pretty peaceful (we have four machines altogether, two washers and two dryers, and 21 apartments in our building; that can be a pretty big headache sometimes!). I'm just sitting here enjoying some orange flavored Crystal Light and having myself a nice day today.

I hope everyone enjoys their day today.

Hi all :)

Went walking on Sunday with my husband, and with the wonderful Sharon Mock and Zak Jarvis, and Zak let me use his spiffy camera to take a picture to turn into an anniversary card for my parents. It was a lovely picture. So lovely, I wanted to share it with you. So here's the part I used to make the card:

As before, if you click on the thumbnail you'll see the picture.

And as my two cents towards serenity and calm and all, I will not tell you how often the graphics program crashed and I had to redo everything.

Is that a Prickly Pear? It's beautiful, Shweta. I've always loved cactus flowers. That's one thing I miss about Arizona that you don't see all that often up here in Oregon.

Pretty picture.

:)

Sunny hot weather, a mild breeze, and loud boat engines on the lake (I think every boat in the Carolinas is on our lake this weekend). I am going to stay on land to avoid the traffic and enjoy the wonderful weekend under some shady trees. I need to get a hammock. :)

hey, all, hope you guys are doing well and had a super weekend. My mom (89) has pneumonia, but she is feeling a bit better, so I'm worried about her. Hope she'll be ok soon. Have a great day!

Good mornin,' Susie--I hope the rooster let you sleep in a bit today. Sorry to hear about your mom! Hope she continues mending well.

Anybody here ever take a trip in an RV? My husband just rented one for an upcoming trip to some national parks...I'm hoping it's an improvement over sleeping in tents. :)

Thanks so much, Stormie & Pat. Most appreciated about mom and the rooster! Hey, have a great trip, Pat. An RV has to be better than a tent, at least I hope so.:)

If your Mom likes earl grey tea be sure to have her drink some. It is made from the plant Bergamot which is used for helping with respiratory infections.

Things that are nice for respiratory stuff, besides bergamot (and yes, earl grey is wonderful for breathing problems):

Lavender
Citrus stuff in general (I find lemon and honey in hot water to be wonderful)
Cedarwood, cypress, eucalyptus -- generally the way I get these is with essential oils. They can do more for me sometimes than my prescribed drugs.

And, Rosemary in general just makes me feel better.

I'm thinking about this myself today, can't breathe too well. I hope your mother is hugely better very soon, Susie!

Behind you!
I'm sorry not to have been here more often lately. Between bringing Kid Two home from college, lighting a fire under him about finding a summer job, and helping Kid One move into her first apartment, I've barely had time to feel yucky, but somehow I've managed nevertheless.

I'm sipping mental nectar whenever I can.

Maryn, who could use some serenity and a new bottle of ibuprofen
