I guess all their authors don't have to worry about math errors "Sherry" may make. It's not as though they'd be getting royalty checks...

I won't because if it was wasn't for James D. Macdonald's writing advice, I probably would have never have been published. He gives out his advice for free (a concept alien to you) because he wants to help other writers, another concept alien to you.

Jim, I guess "Sherry" saw your post, because here's the latest:

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. We've seen it before (sigh), and we've researched it pretty thoroughly. Basically, there are less than 5 main sites and they all copy each other. They are run by Ann Crispin, Victoria Strauss, and Dave Kuminisky, and James MacDonald, and they purport to be the watchdogs of the industry. Ann Crispin has sold TWO books in 10 years, Victoria maybe one, and Dave and Jim, I don't think any.. ..(hmmmm, can you see a trend here?)

The rest is exactly the same. (you'd think they could spare a couple of secs to correct the spelling of Dave's name).

Oh, and by the way, Sherry, Jim (with his writing partner, Debra Doyle) has sold way more than "I don't think any" books in the past 10 years (and before that, too). A glance at his bibliography is all it takes to refute your ridiculous claim. Most recent is LAND OF MIST AND SNOW (Eos, November 2006), in bookstores right now.

Odd that it is obvious "Sherry" reads the posts here (as evidenced by the update) but seems to keep skipping over the facts. Considering not only that you guys have posted links and the actual lists in the posts themselves, you would think "Sherry" would amend the number of books that she says they've sold.

Well, you have to keep in mind that Sherry graduated from "internidiots" and is no longer an intern. She's full fledged and that accounts for almost everything she states.

Gosh, I feel proud that P&E is one of the fewer than five sites causing Sherry no end of problems.

Hmmm, what would lift Sherry's spirits? A contest to draw her likeness? Of course, any entries with pitchfork, horns, and pointy tail would be prohibited. We want the contest to be fun, not realistic.

I gotta tell you, most of the editors I heard speak at RWA National just two weeks ago said they do not want to see vampires anymore, just because there are already so many established authors doing them, that it's hard to compete.

That if you DO have a vampire book, it had better be DIFFERENT, and really incredible.

Also, American historicals, still not so much.

But hey, what did they know? They were just the editors.
