Thanks! I seriously don't consider myself a poet, but I've always had a love of parody and wordplay, and I've been sharpening my "style parody" by doing a fair amount of "keystyle" battles (it's like rap battles, but in text). Like any rap battle, it's considered good form to both mimic the other person's style or tone AND flip lyrics back, so.. I figured I'd give it a shot.
In a bit of meta-commentary, by the by, the last 'graph is a reworked 'graph from Marshal Mathers' Ass Like That, followed by the treacly line about the poem coming from my heart and soul. Everything else is mine, though.
Though with all the frustration I ran into (including being threatened by Cheryl with lawsuit inclusion, told by Mary I was attacking her and watching a friend of mine who said what I was but even more patiently get threatened by Cheryl's husband), I guess it was more like, um.. from my spleen and coccyx.
