Does anyone else have the sudden urge to rush out and buy some David Gemmell books? :)

What do you recommend. I already have Legend somewhere. And some others in that series, plus some in a newer series. Guess I should read those, huh? :D What else do you recommend?
I am planning to.
All because of this.

Okay, people, 'fess up. Who wrote the poem at Lanaia's Yahoo Group?

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lanaia/message/351

Howdy. Shawn Struck here and that Yahoo posting was me-- I dashed that off this morning to vent frustration after I have tried, several times, both gently and non-gently to explain to her agent and Mary what she was doing was wrong, why people were so upset, what dangers she was facing, and steps she could take to fix everything... and seeing that my well-intentioned words were having about as much effect on her Atlantean Reality Distortion Field as a toothpick would have on a Sherman tank, I dashed off that poem.

I didn't re-post it in her guest book, though. toroth2001 is a yahoo throwaway address I mostly use to avoid spam ( the name is taken from http://www.midspark.net/shawn/note.htm the name of my web site mascot. Please excuse the shoddy writing contrary to the front page, I really haven't touched the page since about 2003, save for a plug for my sales blog in '05). I will credit Mysterious Poem Reposter with the name Tommy Roth, as that sound like an excellent assumed name for the little dragon to use in disguise.

I am also actually published, though my writing has been feature articles for the Ziff-Davis property 1up.com.

I'm a long-time lurker but I figured I might as well"come clean" as it were. Glad some of you enjoyed the poem to roffle.

You certainly captured her voice and... style. :D

Thanks! I seriously don't consider myself a poet, but I've always had a love of parody and wordplay, and I've been sharpening my "style parody" by doing a fair amount of "keystyle" battles (it's like rap battles, but in text). Like any rap battle, it's considered good form to both mimic the other person's style or tone AND flip lyrics back, so.. I figured I'd give it a shot.

In a bit of meta-commentary, by the by, the last 'graph is a reworked 'graph from Marshal Mathers' Ass Like That, followed by the treacly line about the poem coming from my heart and soul. Everything else is mine, though.

Though with all the frustration I ran into (including being threatened by Cheryl with lawsuit inclusion, told by Mary I was attacking her and watching a friend of mine who said what I was but even more patiently get threatened by Cheryl's husband), I guess it was more like, um.. from my spleen and coccyx.

What's Cheryl's husband's name? I can check if he even has any expertise in this area of law.

And welcome, Shawn!

If he had an expertise or sense he would be telling both of them to clam up and stop sending emails. 37? You must be joking?!?

I doubt very much he's a lawyer. He would have advised his wife from the get go that she was in the wrong. In so many ways.

I agree, but don't confuse being a lawyer with being intelligent. Vic Cretella, anyone?

I believe her husband's name is David, and if they have the same last name, it should be Kellis.

I thought it was Pillsbury (Cheryl is the agent with the lawyer husband, correct)?

Oops, that was the info for Lanaia Lee's husband. Don't remember if Cheryl's husband is mentioned anywhere, but her agency's contact info lists a Boston address, and she said somewhere that she works out of her home.

Cheryl Pillsbury is a PA author. Maybe, she’ll hire him? This time he can say she was possessed by her dabbling in the "occult" and that’s why she acted so badly. He does have a reputation for the bizarro defense…

http://www.freewebs.com/pozkin/legalwatch.htm

He (Cretella) read some archaic definition of the word "shorted," which he said had a Satanic/demonic connotation which had "scared" the PA employee who rudely informed Complainant that he was wrong and that no accountant would be permitted access to his records… At that point, the room went silent, the hearing officer simply stared at Cretella…

Yup. My sympathy has completely faded. She's been scammed quite a few times it appears and yet continues to ignore warnings or advice. She had an offer of help from Victoria and she piddled on that.

She wants to write bad poetry and prose and to recieve accolades. She doesn't want to improve. And she wants sympathy for her medical condition. Every single place I've seen her introduce herself, she uses that as her lead in.

Brava, Victoria.

Perhaps, that will jar Miss Lee into reality. I doubt it, as I feel she thinks this is similar to hiring a plumber or handyman to do work on her home. If they screw up, they are entirely to blame. She paid Hill, so she believes he is entirely to blame. It isn't the same thing. Not even close.
