I have this just-arrived box next to me, filled with treasures, and I'm not seeing them all that well because I'm teary. The tornado-relief care package.
There's a fancy bath towel the size of Texas with a hand-serged kitteh and "nerdsRus" on it from auntybug
A BOOK, omg, The Liar's Diary by Patry Francis, I can't afford new hardcovers, from escritoria
A handmade quilt from writerterri, SO pretty
BBQ sauce from jannawrites, YUM
A pocket journal and 100% Pure Ceylon Tea from Susan Breen, zoinkies. Fancy stuff.
Dean and De Luca chocolates from WendyNYC, holy cacao beans Batman, these are good
a much-needed something from DLHegel, used it immediately for food
a knitted prayer shawl from Yeshanu and her congregation, I will use and treasure this
a Medieval fridge magnet, a good luck charm from Singapore, and a Michaelangelo jigsaw puzzle from oneblindmouse, wonderful
a beautiful seascape from Trish and Pat
Chumplet! A pet portrait coupon! The kittehs are already striking poses.
Heron, lotions, kitteh toys (they're already playing with them) and stones and shells from the Mediterranean. Wow.
nancysv, an extraordinary rock ornament, it's magical
moth, a gorgeous blanket, and . . . batteries, lol. One not to do with the other. Batteries for emergencies.
And. WriterJeff.
a silver box with an ornament by Civil War artist Mort Kunstler entitled A Fleeting Moment.
And a note, and enough for me to get to the grocery store for a little while.
There are notes in everyone's handwriting. Keepsakes to last my lifetime. (Except for the chocolates, which have, err, disappeared rather quickly.)
This is without a doubt one of the all-time nicest things ever in my life, this treasure box. Thank you doesn't begin to cover it.
This is edited to add SUSIE. Thank you.
