When he said he had a problem with faeries, I brought a bird cage, so, you can see why I was very unprepared when something that looked nothing like Tinker Bell stomped out of his swimming pool.

The galaxy (of the many, I refer to the Milky Way) is one of those reluctant hangouts, like a parking lot.

The reason we're given for the madness is trying to adjust our circadian rhythm of 24-hour days into 32-hour days, but I suspect it's something more.

Ma used to say that there were 24 usable hours in one day, but she never did a tour on Rapsidon 5, where the norm is 32.

"My name is Elandra and I am addicted to Blood magic."
You got that from Dragon Age, huh? :D

Okay for mine: Sand licking has some rather adverse effects on the psyche, including swelling of the brain, hallucinations, meeting Bob Saget, and growing a third limb.

I'd heard that blood makes the grass grow but if I'd known it would turn the trees into carnivorous creatures, I wouldn't have tried it.

ELMontague

She never understood that it wasn't blood in general that turned things to carnivorous creatures, but my blood.

I was still a couple hundred short on rent, but if I sold any more of my blood on the black market, I risked being exposed as Patient Zero.

Never read/seen Dragon Age. I just liked the idea of an AA-style intro. I like your line though.

My newest...

Some days should be struck from memory - like the day your new laptop tried to eat you.

(More fun because I've just got a new laptop - early Christmas prezzie. Not tried to eat me though.)

My friend had a really bad break-up recently, so, I recommended Happy Days, the agency that can edit days, weeks, or even months from your mind (and from your heart).*

*Yes, I am thinking about Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Shush. I love that movie.

ELMontague

My friend recently suffered a horrible break-up and thankfully he carried insurance with for that sort of thing, so we just had to drop him off at The Assembly Hut; you know, putting you back together for over twenty years.

Uncontrollable anger, run-away lust, terrible forgetfulness--these are are things we can cure, but to date, none of our scientists have been able to eliminate love due to being unable to define it.

Contrary to centuries of romantic philosophy, the biopsychiatric reaction called 'love' can be eradicated with one simple injection, but 89% of test subjects make the same stupid mistakes in their choice of partners over and over again.

(Next line--"Take me, for example.")

The single deciding factor between the survival or complete annihilation of all life on Sol-III was discovered, in retrospect, to be the death of the last queen of the genus Apis in the family Apidae, order Hymenoptera.
