Well, there's too much happening actually. Not work. Ugh.

* Fiance got a nasty infection in his knee while crabbing this weekend. On meds. May need surgery.
* The fridge broke, so while he sat with ice on his elevated leg, I cleaned out the fridge, put everything in the other one in the garage to defrost the one in the kitchen. Hopefully it works.
* Tonight we have the Little One, and as long as the SO doesn't need surgery, I get to go home, put the fridge back together, pray it works, get the LO to do her homework, get her bath, make dinner, clean up the kitchen (may need to do that before and after dinner), get the LO (and the SO) to bed, workout, and then a bath...I don't care what time it is at that point. I want a bath.

I totally agree with you. A bath after all that is totally necessary. Preferrably a hot one with lots of bubbles.

Absolutely. And a good book and glass of wine.

Oh, I want to be there now.

The SO's apt is at 10 this morning. I'll know hopefully by 11 whether surgery is necessary.

Good luck to him--whatever will give him the best outcome.

I've finally gotten the chance to make coffee, so things should be getting better soon.

I'm feeling tired this morning. Last night was emotionally exhausting for me. Kid One had a tick on her that we found Sunday afternoon. It had already bitten her and buried its head, and when my husband went to pull it off of her, he left the head in her skin. (I'm going to quit letting him do this. It's the second time he's done it to someone already this year.)

She flipped out and wouldn't let him work on it to get the head out, so I slapped triple antibiotic and a bandaid on it and thought we'd try again yesterday. My mom and I tried to convince her to sit down and let us take care of it in the morning and she freaked again. Hubs and I tried to get her to let us do it last night and she wouldn't. We ended up pinning her down and taking the minute that was required to get the head out.

It was not the way I wanted to do it. The baby was going apeshit because she freaks out when her sister freaks out. Made my night very icky.

I am SO glad I've never had to deal with that. Ever. So totally glad.

You have many huggles and comfort food from over here, TJ.

Did you at least get your DQ on the way home?

Well, good news. The doc wants the SO to come back tomorrow, but it appears to be getting better. He says he feels a lot better, and we spent about 5 minutes joking on the phone. He seems a lot more like himself. He still has a fever and the sweats, but he's otherwise feeling much better.

I feel better too. We're not out of the woods just yet, but the meds seem to be working which is good.

Thanks, me too. I've never been so scared - someone who has such a high pain threshold and never cries, shivering with tears in his eyes from the pain.

I have to die before he does.

Well, for the second time, my work computer's come down with a horrible virus that demands it be totally reimaged from the boot sector onward. And the site I was visiting at both times? AW.

Now I don't get the virus at home, but I've gotten at work twice. They're going to block the site, I do believe. Can't risk it. For the second time, I'm home early (on my vacation time) because of this mess. *sigh*

I'm not going to be able to come and play here during work hours anymore, 'tis sad to say. I'm gonna miss all you guys.

They're using MacAfee.

It's very frustrating 'cause they just totally wiped the entire thing not a month ago. Just can't risk the interference.

None of the ads are blocked. Don't know how to do it, honestly. What's scariest is that >I< am a computer guru at work. LOL!

1. That doesn't mean you got it here.

2. There isn't malware on the AW server. It sounds like you've got a Windows rootkit--and it is in fact far more likely that you got it from a disk or computer on the same network at work.

3. Windows viruses, and malware that target Windows machines *can't run on the AW server* because it isn't running Windows. There are less than ten pieces of malware of any sort that can run on the AW server; none are running, and of those few instances, they don't attack Windows computers. They attack other servers. And there aren't any on AW's server.

I'm sorry for your frustration, but seriously, your IT department is clueless if you're running a box that can be infected--they need to install antivirus software on the box, and no end-user should have Admin access.

Finally--I don't normally even read this thread; please people, if you have a problem or think you have a problem with AW:

Use the Contact Us link at the bottom of every single forum page. It goes right to MacAllister.

No worries, Lisa. I remembered and that was where I directed her to right off the bat. I just saw you were in the other thread and posted there as well.

I was actually just grumping. I know AW wasn't the problem, but the IS department aren't the brightest crayons in the box, so this is the site they're blaming it on. I'll just have to deal with it until they figure out that that's not it. I was just explaining why I wouldn't be around much during the day.

Except for days like today, when I'm sick and at home.

People tend to wonder about others when they go missing without any explanation, after all. I was just grumping and giving people a heads-up.

Yes we do. Wonder that is. Sometimes my grouching has been misinterpreted as criticism that wasn't intended.

Work sucks! Down with work!

ETA: You could point out that you've spoken with the administrators of the site and since the server is not even Windows-based, there's no way it could have infected your machine.

You know, just to subtlely point out how stipid they are.
