Royalty for a Week

OK, folks, I've squashed the Love Battles (sorry to be a killjoy), but I still like what My-Immortal was trying to do, so I have another thought on showin' the love.

Anyone can name another person on this board King/Queen of the Day. Just post here to say who you're electing and why, and let the fawning begin! Everyone else can join in to say why they appreciate that member, and the royal member gets to make royal decrees and stuff.

So!

Today I elect Sean D. Schaffer King for the Day because he always makes me smile, and he always has a kind word for everyone he encounters.

EDITED: The royal reigns were moving too swiftly for us to keep up, so now we've decided to have Royalty for the Week instead of Royalty for the Day. And the tradition is for the current king or queen to name a successor.

Kinda short reign ol' Sean is getting, since he didn't ascend the royal folding-chair (soon-to-be-made-of-solid-gold-and-look-very-throne-like) until after 7:00 pm.

And Sean doesn't strike me so much as 'kingly' as so obviously 'princely'...

I hereby suspend your tributary payments for a fortnight, Sean, in honor of your kingship. (I get to do that, because I'm an emperor)

You do have a point. Perhaps the person who elects tomorrow's Royalty of the Day would be kind enough to do it in the afternoon, so as not to give Sean too short a reign.

He may need time to figure out what he wants from his royal servants...

Yeah, yeah, but all kings must have their (platonic) queens. I'm just saying, at the end of the day, only one of them is going to step down, and if anybody else steps up, it's time for a most queenly throwdown
