Morning House of Grumpies. Or at least I am. I am absolutely INCREDULOUS that Geoffrey Rush did not win best supporting actor. Who were those all people anyway??? What the HELL was Nicole Kidman thinking when she put on that THING???:scared:
I had me breakfast, now I'm pondering what to do this day. We had ice, that's ICE on the roof this morning. :Jaw:

Stand by, all emergency personnel...

Lush.
:)

I think I'm going to take sonny out for lunch. He's already finished all of his schoolwork for the day. I'm going to have to find something for him to do in the afternoons.

Use the Karate Kid method. Make him do work, but explain that it's for his own good.

I could teach him chemistry by making him scrub the bathtub. "Don't mix bleach and ammonia. Tell me why, then make things sparkle."

Vacuuming could help him understand geometry and measuring areas.

Hi, Suz! Keepin' my fingers crossed for you too.

Today sonny learned about economics. He traded his old Nintendo DS stuff in for store credit because he wants to buy an Xbox. He only needs $60 more. I bet he could work that off for me in a couple of weeks.

That boy is going to be ready for college with all this education he's getting. Then he can move on to things like putting a new roof on and raising his own beef cattle.

Kids, they grow up so quickly. I received this e-mail from one of my pretend daughters earlier today.

Dad, I sure could use a new roof....
I feel loved.

He's doing pretty well. I'm the one who's struggling with things. He just got his first progress report and he's getting great grades, which is especially great considering he started two weeks late and had to make up all of that work. My struggle is knowing what to do with him when he finishes his schoolwork in two hours. I haven't been getting any writing done. I mean NOT A WORD.

I was chatting with someone named ColoradoMom a day or two ago. She might have a newsletter for homeschoolers his age.
