Could you give me a clue such as the name of the writer and/or the series he produced?

No, but I'll give you a second clue, which is practically a giveaway if you figure it out.

TWO RHYMES / RUMORS, WAR DETEE

1. TV writer & producer / One of several series for which he wrote and produced.
2. The writer-producer has the same name as a very famous fictional character.

Good job! If you haven't seen the movie, it's pretty good. I work in a cube farm and Office Space and Dilbert are pretty frequently referenced.

 Good job, Harry. This is one hell of a good picture, despite its low budget. One of the best noirs, and I've always had a crush on Marie Windsor, though she was usually cast in B pictures. Just the way things worked in the old Hollywood studio system, I guess, because she was a first-rate actress. :D

Oh yup, quality picture. Though I always thought the humour in it kinda kicked it out of the noir genre (not to say noir can't be funny). More like American Hitchcock imho - definitely smart, wicked, fun and worth a Sunday afternoon of anyones life.

Anyone want to take my go? I'm far too drunk for scrambling. :)
