I worked nights at a Denny's just up the road from a university. We were always busy from bar close (3:30) to about 5:00 every morning. Drunk peoples were very entertaining. As was the staff from the local gay bar.

I love drunks. :)
They amuse me.
And its great to have a philosophy discussion with one.

I must disagree. I think you can have too much John Denver.

*does not compute*

But you can never have too much Village People.

100% agreed.

By the way, apparently today is "Employee Appreciation Day" which includes Krispy Kreme donuts.

My Motivation Alert Code just went from Periwinkle to Topaz.

Here, there, everywhere.
You guys have the best late-night food all wrong. It's just-baked bread with chorizo, at just-opened bakery. Period. :D

Also, Bos, can I borrow that coffee IV of yours?

There is no greater place for 2am celebratory chow than the Waffle House. When I lived in Fla, our post-galavanting runs ended with WH and some hot-light Krispy Kreme. Ah...good times.

We don't have a Waffle House here. (Hell, I think we only got an iHop a couple of years ago.) But we did have a local diner that catered to the overnight trucker crowd. Didn't open until 11 PM, but they made the best hand-made milkshakes around.

Though at college we tended to end up at the sticky-bun place down on the main drag through State College. Which is the name of the town PSU resides in.

Reminds me of this place in Winter Harbor, ME called the Donut Hole. It was barely more than a shack on the harbor run by these two old ladies, but it opened every morning at 4am for the lobstermen and they had the best blueberry pancakes and donuts. It was always a special treat to eat there and afterwards my sister would play on the seaweed covered rocks (not the smartest choice looking back).

I was heartbroken when it closed several years back. To this day, whenever I drive past the building (it's a home now), I smile and enjoy the purity of the memory.

Doesn't your MAC come in more masculine colors? Also, now I need a chart (with colors) ranging from Very Motivated to Shoot Me, Shoot Me Now. At your leisure.

*Borrows the soapbox from Junely.*

If you want to call and pester someone because you want to know if a job is done processing, why don't you do it? Even though I might be in charge of staying in contact with the people running and monitoring the job, calling them every five minutes is not going to make it get done faster and is only going to annoy everyone.

*Passes the soapbox back around.*

Here you go. This was adapted from the "Tacticalocity Alert Code" system some buddies and I created during our previous career. As such, it was not intended to offend any particular color from the color wheel, but rather names were (mostly) chosen at random when asked how tactical and motivated the day was.

Hex Triplet Codes are added to this rendition to ensure easy look-up when scouring the spectrum.

And now, without further ado, I present unto thee, CMs Motivational Alert Code Color Chart (copyrighted, trademarked, surrounded by claymores, translated into 7 foreign languages, this is not the list you are looking for, etc).

Motivational Alert Code Color Chart:

Just for that, the next time I need a name for a hit man, assassin, bruiser, bouncer, or other tough character.... their name shall be "Periwinkle."

Our post-2am celebratory chow (and this was back in college) was always at Dennys.

Dennys and IHOP are my go to places for quick, brainless food at any time of the day during an E3 or GDC run. Unfortunately we have no all nighter chain restaurants like that in my city, but plenty of greasy spoons that are open all night, so when the time comes, it's usually just an argument over which diner to hit that night, at which point it pretty much devolved into the Diner movie from 1982.

You know, yesterday I was going to post over in international that it was Poland's Constitution Day, but yesterday I did not for a few reasons.

TODAY, there's a big ole salute to the Neatherlands at the top of AW.

This little thing called Bad Timing is definitely getting a Liver.

The mods get an ultraviolet for playing up the international aspect of the forum though.

There's something to be said about quitting when you're a head.

Wow. That was amazing. Pun on, Eye. Pun on.

Thank the gods we have no Waffle House in in the West Coast.

Fixed it for you.

You had me at Toy Story :( This is bad b/c I'm Home Alone age on your chart.

I remember Lion King and Jurassic Park in theaters well.

As a side note, when you are a crazy kid and you think it's a good idea to see Jurassic Park for the third time, despite being a bit bored by it the second time through, just b/c a friend asks you to go and you somehow think 3rds a charm... well, suffice to say that that was the day I understood the concept of wanting to gouge ones own eyes out while screaming 'for the love of god, WHY?'

Hello all!

My head is going to explode today. Right off my shoulders.

I saw Star Wars in the theater.

Yeah, that's getting to be the new "I stormed Normandy" street cred.

Like, Normandy beach in France. Not the SSV Normandy in the Mass Effect series. See in Mass Effect, Frigate class ships are named after historic battles not-

Oh, never mind. Kids these days...

I missed you guys yesterday! I love days that by the time I get home from work, I have just enough time to eat and get ready for bed before bedtime. Today is probably going to be like that too. :(
