I sympathize. My cat is also a short-hair, big shedder, and hairball-puker extraordinaire. Ugh. In fact, I have to call the vet about her today, because she's not tolerating her food and has lost weight. I HATE making phone calls.

@ MissLissy - Well when I was a baby my mom's old cat used to lay in my cradle when I wasn't in it cause it was soft and warm. So I have been exposed to cat hair from birth. My friend on the other hand was never exposed. He stepfather was allergic and now she is very allergic, eyes watering and puffing and she sneezes a heck of a lot, but at least she can breathe. They say the more exposure you have the better, cause then the body knows it isn't like life-threatening...

After that(first in my lifetime) cat died we got another, I was four, and then that second cat lived 21 years, and died summer before last or summer before that... And our new cat is 2 and a half yrs old(got her 3 months after the previous). And we have always had dogs too. Long and short hair, so I am not allergic to any kind of cat/dog that I know of. :D

@Twinkie - sorry to hear that, yeah it is hard. Maybe cat got the hairball stuck.

Like I said, I skip even 2 days brushing and she pukes one up again, so I am trying to remember to keep on top of it. Our other cat that lived 21 years was short hair but hardly ever had hairballs, and they were not very big, size of a marble maybe... so I am not used to puke patrol. *Brush-brush-brushing*

Haha I don't know if I completely believe that PD cause I had a cat my whole life until I went to college and since I was 10+ my parents have had dogs and I'm still allergic to both of them.

Thanks all for the well wishes on writing the query. I'm officially halfway this round of edits, so it's time to stop for lunch so I can watch 3rd Rock from the Sun. Yes...I'm a dork.

Re: cats. I am highly allergic until my body adjusts to that cat's danger. I still have my allergic moments, but cannot be anywhere near a strange cat. Hives, puffy, water eyes, sneezing, the works!

Also, I hate hairballs. Most of the time our cat throws up food, not fur. She waits until I vacuum and then hocks one up. I swear, with her dirting my clean living room and our tortoise doing the same to the kitchen, they're plotting to get me some how.

Okay, food times. Be back soon.

Yeah, I have heard that before too - probably just depends on the person then. My other friend had no prob with long hair dogs, but is allergic to short haired - figure that one out... lol

Thanks all for the well wishes ...

I have flooring, so that helps, just windex and wipe it up as long as she missed the area rugs!

Ooh, what kind of tortoise - TexasTortoise, CaliforniaGorpher, SonoranDesert(flat shell), MexicanTortoise...

P-dragon, she's a red footed tortoise. Had her for I think four or five years. She's too big for a tank (about the size of a saucer right now) so we just let her roam around the kitchen and have a baby gate so she can't get out.

Going to log for a bit. Have a good afternoon.

I'm glad to hear others are allergic to cats. I thought I was going to get kicked out of the writing community :). It seems like everyone has a cat, haha!

I'm not allergic to any dogs, that I know of.

Hi Pezie! We were also talking about tortoises. Lol.

Yeah, I am always covered in cat hair, my baby loves me and wants to be held constantly. I end up spitting it by days end. If I did not close my door she would probably sleep on my head!

Haha one time I was staying at a friend's house who has cats and I woke up in the middle of the night and sat up and then one of the cats jump right where my head had been. If I hadn't sat up, he would have jumped right on my head.

I heard about that... way, way too young. Way...! There are no wrinkles and it is a toxin, you have no idea what exposure to a toxin at such a young age will do! Especially on the face. What happens if she has a reaction later in life... So irresponsible!

As for the Avi, good or bad?

I think Botox in the first place is just wrong. On an 8-year-old? Ridiculous.
