Hey everyone. glad to hear that everyone is ok after the most recent crazy weather and fires and such. Keep staying safe. We had a crazy storm here this morning too. I was driving to my son's Kung Fu grading, and a there was a black cloud in the distance. In all of about a minute and a half, it was on top of us, and it looked more like midnight than ten thirty in the morning.

My husban has been in the hospital pretty much all week. His calcium levels keep getting too high and making him really sick. On the bright side, he got an MRI and they found the tumerous thyroid gland, and don't see any cancer. On the not so bright side, about an hour ago he noticed a red streak creeping up his arm, went back again, and just texted me to say the nurse told him it looks like a blood clot forming.:(

Yay to no cancer, Spiral!

Boo to blood clots. Good thing he took it seriously and got it checked.

Let him know a bunch of online friends are sending positive vibes his way. :)

Hello from the pub!

Greetings! As I miss the pubs of Dublin immensely, this is the next best thing! Bruxelles can't be replicated! I work with indie artists to help promote their work. Just trying to offer one more service to get the voices of the independents to the masses...

Okay, it's Monday and there isn't enough coffee in the world right now to keep me from dragging this morning, but that doesn't mean it's not worth trying. [Puts on several pots.]

Hope everyone had a fun, productive weekend!

Just popping in to say hi and for a pint of whiskey. :hi: :e2drunk:

[Hands over whiskey]

Hey, long time no see! So, ah, you inadvertently inspired a short story a month or so back with an offhand comment you made, just about the time you disappeared, and so I named a minor character Jed (he's green.) I'm hoping that's not a problem for you, 'cause I'm in the process of subbing the story, but since it's overwhelmingly likely to get bounced from where I've currently sent it if you want me to change it let me know.

And if you want to read it to decide, also let me know that.

-Suzanne

Who wouldn't want to be immortalized in prose, even if they are green. That actually might be a plus. More memorable.

For jtrylch:

4 oz (~115g) semisweet chocolate
1 cup whole milk
1/4 tsp cornstarch
whipping cream

Chop up the chocolate and melt it in a saucepan on low.
In another saucepan, heat the milk to just short of a boil, and then slowly stir into melted chocolate.
Mix the cornstarch with a few tablespoons of water, then stir into the chocolate mixture.
Cook, stirring constantly, until you're *really* bored, but don't let it boil.
Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream & serve.

Giving me the recipe, Suzanne, is a little evil. I'm trying to diet. Not trying very hard though! :)
