Yes, I know I'm double-posting.

My name is Stephanie King, and I'm the head content editor with Grit City Publications – http://gritcityserial.com - home of a new avenue in fiction: the emotobook. I read your query letter for 'Mad as a Hatter' and would love to take a look at your novel and see if it would be a good fit to be published with our company.
An emotobook is a form of serial ebook, a story broken into ten installments and enhanced with stunning abstract art to reel the reader deeper into the story. Should I like your novel, you'd work with an editor – like me – and transform your novel into this new breed of book. It would then be handed off to an illustrator.
The initial contract with us would last for five years, meaning we would have exclusive publishing rights to your story for five years. We would publish it and promote it on our website and our blogs, through Twitter and Facebook. To get the most out of it, you would be best doing your own promotions, as well, via social media and anything else you can think of. You would be paid royalties on the work, and the more issues you sell each month the better you'll get paid. At the end of those three years, you can choose to take the book off the market, publish with someone else, or renew your contract with us and keep selling through Grit City Publications.

We're looking to get ten novels on the 'shelves' by Christmas, and I want yours to be one of them. Get back to me as soon as you can; the faster we get started, the sooner your baby will be on the market, and the richer we'll all be.
More information can be found at http://www.rongavalik.com/Site/WriteEmotobooks.html and I'll keep you updated with any new information that comes out. If you have any further questions, please email them to me at [email protected] and I'll do my best to answer them.
If you know someone else who has a finished novel and might be interested, please tell them to send a query to me at [email protected] They must be at least 18, and the book must not have been published in the past.

Received this on NaNoWriMo. So weird. Plus I'm totally not eighteen.

Looks scammish Thalia.

Ari. I'm sending over the first 15k of Weeping with my notes. As for everyone else, sadly I have to be at work in a few :(

I agree with the Writer Beware thing. That just...doesn't sound very trustworthy to me.

ETA: All right Kidd. I shall look after I'm done eating :)

I just spent an hour watching TV. D:

To stay up all night writing or not? That is the question.

Sometimes being over politically correct isn't always a good thing. especially when we all know 90% of the world make comments about other peoples behaviour or dress sense anyway. its just whether anyone decides to take the high road about it or not. so lets just forget anyone said anything the least bit contr.oversial and get on with whatever we were doing before hand.

*is jolted out of lurkdom*

Okay.

So people want to make sure that others don't go around offending with terms that their own privilege (whether that privilege is being male or being White or being straight, etc.) wouldn't recognize as offensive...is a bad thing?

And just because the majority of the world is doing one thing, doesn't make it right. Usually progress means stepping away from the norm.

I just...

I'm not even in the mood to write.

Imma just stick to YouTube and fixing my notes for now and I'll see how I go.

Just out of curiousity, how do you guys get yourselves pumped up to write?

I agree that the term racist is thrown around too much but I also believe that the definition of it is becoming blurred.

It's kind of like the "Mary Sue" thing. People accuse characters of being Mary Sues when they're really not, but that doesn't mean there aren't Mary Sues out there. The same concept goes for racism.

I also believe if you feel the need to follow something with "no offense" you should probably think twice before saying it at all.

Now. Moving on.

I don't really get myself pumped up to write. I'm either feeling inspired or I'm not. Sometimes I can trigger inspiration by looking at pictures or listening to music or brainstorming while I go for a walk but that's about it.

Usually, listen to music that reminds me of my WIP. Watch writerly YouTube videos or anything with J.K. Rowling in it. :D

I guess I'm the same. If I'm really desperate to write, I go back to what inspired the idea, otherwise I'll just listen to music or watch films.

I don't get pumped up...I remind myself that I want to have it as a living and therefore it's a job. So I force it whether I'm in the mood or not.

When i need to get pumped up i just sit thinking of my characters and future ideas.

I'm going to agree with Tally on this, can we just stop with the racism debate.

For all you are found it bothersome what Kat said. She didn't mean anything hurtful by it as she said, it wasn't meant to start a race war, so lets just drop the issue and forget about it. I feel like this whole thing is being blown way out of proportion.

Also, 90% of the world isn't being PC. The horrible "plague" of PC that people see is...not that huge.

That statement itself is massively privileged.

It's not really a debate. The comments just keep coming though.

And...*whistles*

We tried to redirect it (with the "how do you get pumped up?").

So let's try again. Anyone on Pottermore? I got sorted into Ravenclaw! :D

EDIT: PC stands for 'Politically Correct.' In this case, it's not referring to the computer.

Aw, what's wrong with hufflepuff? Hufflepuffs are the sweetest house. Epic friends in that house. :)

My friend was convinced they were going to be in Hufflepuff, but then they ended up in Ravenclaw.

ALSO, BECAUSE, IS THAT KORRA IN YOUR AVATAR?!

I'm hoping for Slytherin or Ravenclaw, but I'll be happy just to get into Pottermore. I mean, come on, wasn't Tonks a Hufflepuff? And she's the definition of badass.

Yeah, J.K. Rowling said she took an online test and it put her into Hufflepuff. Queen Rowling is in hufflepuff. That counts for something. :D

The hat asked me in the end if I wanted Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. I wasn't too sure. Did the hat ask anyone else in the end?

AND YES, ZOOMBIE, IT IS KORRA! I NEED THIS SHOW NOW!

*ahem*
