All this discussion just gives us another reason why we need to start on next year's all the sooner... as in now... I intend to get my submission ready for it as soon as I have time
No, it's okay, and we totally understand that these things sometimes take longer than we expected (and life can get in the way). It take as long as it needs to to get it right, and we understand
So, now that I've calculated it out and accepted that I can't do what I want to do in time, I decided I'm going to do this:
I am still hoping that it will be available and shipped to me before Christmas, though, because a friend I'm seeing in person on the 26th is already getting a "your present isn't ready yet" note, and I'd hate to give her two.
I'm considering sending bookmarks with the notes, like BunnyMaz said, since I already have the bookmarks. But that probably wouldn't work since the point of the bookmarks was to put them in the books at my story, so that the non-SFF readers in my family, who would only appreciate my story, could get there easily. But I do know a couple of people that that would work for. For example, one of my best friends who has been supporting my writing since I did *cough*fanfic*cough* in college adores SFF, and would read it cover to cover if I wasn't in there anyway. But my grandpa, who doesn't even own a computer, is going to need a bookmark at my story, lol (unless someone snuck a western in there
)
