Hello, my name is Mark Moore. I just joined this forum, so I thought I'd introduce myself (makes sense, right? ).

I was born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 18, 1978. My parents and I moved down to this unincorporated town called Homosassa in Citrus County, Florida, in June of 1986, when I was 7, so I pretty much grew up in Redneck Capital, USA.

I have been writing fanfics as long as I can remember, even way before the World Wide Web. I started writing a "Ghostbusters III" script in 1989 or a bit later (I lived and breathed Ghostbusters back then), then I moved on to Captain N fanfics.

When I first got on the Internet in September of 1996, it wasn't long before I was writing a fanfic continuation of "Captain N: The Game Master" (I lived and breathed Captain N back then). I'm probably mostly known for starting the Captain N Internet fandom (such as it is) when I launched The Unofficial Captain N Home Page on February 27, 1997.

I'm technically a published author. I took a Creative Writing course back in the mid- or late-1990s at Central Florida Community College. I wrote a poem back on Captain N, and it was published in the school's literary magazine.

My Captain N fanfic writing stretched into late 2000, and I wrote one last fic in 2002 before giving it up. From January of 2002 until August of 2007, I wrote a Supergirl fanfic series, and I officially gave that up last year. My Captain N and Supergirl fanfics are best left in the past, because, well, they mostly suck.

I got a FanFiction.Net account in June of 2001 and immediately started posting there, but all of the stories and reviews on my account were deleted in August of 2001 (whether this was due to me changing the e-mail address associated with my account or to other accounts of mine being hacked at that time, I have never found out), so I had to re-upload all of my fics. In addition to posting new fics there, I posted most of my old Captain N and Supergirl fics as well as some other fics that I'd written prior to 2001.

I'd like to share some of my fics here, but, unfortunately, what I consider to be my best fics push the envelope in terms of cursing and sensuality, so I'm not sure what would be appropriate. Perhaps I could PM the links to a moderator to give the okay or not?

I draw inspiration from all sorts of things, especially anime (my current live/breathe thingy) and video games. I even draw inspiration from crap, thinking "I can do better than / poke fun at this".

I've had ideas for some ongoing series of original short stories for a while now. On Saturday, October 8, I attended CGA Show (a floating Florida convention), where I met published author Aya Knight (of "The Chronicles of Kale: A Dragon's Awakening"). I'd never heard of her or her book before, but I attended her presentation (I was her only audience member at first), and I was re-invigorated to pursue original writing and getting it published.

I had joined another writing forum around two weeks ago, but my comp was infected with malware while browsing it - twice. The second time rendered my comp incapable of connecting to the Internet, so I'm using my mom's comp for now while I work with people at Tech Support Forum to try to get my comp back online (I might end up having to reinstall Windows). Oddly, I haven't had any problems with browsing that forum on my mom's comp, but I had connected my Facebook account to it, so, rather than deal with the hassle and confusion that would result from my mom wondering why she's always logged out of her Facebook account, I figured I'd just get an account here.

I've started writing the first story in a series (I'd developed a series bible first). Since I plan to publish them as e-books, a lot of my questions will deal with that, but there will also be general writing questions.

I'm not much of a reader. I'm more into anime and video games. However, if I had to pick a "favorite author", I guess it would be Stephen King. I've read only a handful of his novels in their entirety. I'm more into his short stories. I'm also into Archie Comics (the titles centered on the female characters; I'm very female character-oriented to the point of not caring much about males).

I'm also currently (meaning picking them up once in a great while) reading:

*the novelization of "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within" (one of my favorite movies ever)

*"Daughters of the Moon" by Joseph Curtin

*Is That Arabella?", a Riverdale High (Archie Comics) novel by Michael J. Pellowski (one of the regular Archie writers)

"xoxo Betty and Veronica", new Archie Comics novels (so far, there are three in this series; I'm on the first one, "We're with the Band")

*"The Chronicles of Kale: A Dragon's Awakening" by Aya Knight

Upcoming, I've got the Elemental Logic series by Laurie J. Marks and the Green Rider series by Kristen Britain.

Among old stories, I've read "Dracula" and "Dracula's Guest" by Bram Stoker and "The Time Machine" and "The First Men in the Moon" by H.G. Wells.

So, anyway, yeah, that's me. Hi!

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Hello, and welcome! I was big into Captain N as well, and even drew some comics, as craptastic as they were. Drawing those comics helped me to learn to draw people. Then I moved onto X-Men in my teen years and got quite good drawing them. After high school everything went downhill drawing-wise. I hardly pick up a pencil anymore. When I do, I usually never finish what I start. I always finished what I started when I was a teen. Now I write more than I draw, but as with drawing, it's more of a being in the mood thing. Eventually I will finish this novel, even if it takes me ten years to do it, but I don't plan on taking that long.
