MysteryRiter, I hereby blast you with my marshmallow gun! Write, blast you, write!

Jordan, good luck hitting 1K.

My stats: Finished chapter 13. Three more to go. A bit behind on the editing of Ebenezer, though.

I managed to write another 1300 words tonight. :D

Things are really starting to progress. My FMC electrocuted her captor with a lightning bold then my MMC beheaded him. Was really very exciting XD

Err...got the basic minimum I set for myself today.
Word Count: 101.
Shame....On my day off, no less! Slept in, talked with friends that are back in the States, went Christmas shopping with one of the Eastern staff, got some dinner, did some reading for my other co-worker, then met up with him to discuss writing. And it was only a minute ago that I typed the hundred and first word for the day. Bah hum bug. I should have done my writing as soon as I crawled off the futon this morning!

Jordan

p.s. Why does all that oddly feel like confession? I'm not Catholic!!

Nice everyone. I just hit 10k in my WIP! And I only started it 5 days ago! :D I might actually finish it by my goal of late Jan, but we'll see. :)

My holiday schedule just got blasted. It's going to take me two separate house-sitters, because my animals can't maintain themselves, but the rest of my holiday looks like this (all driving distances one way):

25th - Christmas at my mother's
26th - travel two hours for Boxing Day with more family
27th - travel eight hours to help family move
28th - travel an hour and a half to see my grandmother for Christmas
29th - travel eight hours
30th - travel four hours, then make an hour detour before returning
31st - Take physical skills test (parkour)
1st - Complete training to be a parkour instructor and sign sponsorship papers, drive four hours back home.
2nd - get up at 6AM to get everyone to school.

It's safe to say my writing is on hiatus until January 2nd or 3rd. If I survive.

Monkey, I hope you charge into January bursting with writing energy. Maybe a few days away from it are a blessing in disguise?? Might as well try to see it that way, I guess.

MysteryRiter, way to go!

I just finished the Ebenezer edits, in time for today's deadline. Woo! Now I'll see if I can't get 300-400 words written for the new novel.

Happy holidays, everyone!

Ok, so I'm jumping (rather late) on the bandwagon in the hopes of finishing a manuscript for the first time in 6 years. Yes, ditching is becoming a bad habit.

Drop Dead, Gorgeous
Current word count: 22,000 (ish, adding more as we speak)

Minimum goal: 1000 words a day, I'm on holidays this is the least I should be writing. I will finish this book if it kills me >.>

End game: Have this first draft done and dusted by the end of January / the start of school so I can begin the chainsaw hack and slash (editing). I'm thinking about 70K for the final product, but really it will be what it has to be, nothing more and nothing less.

Did another 850 words tonight - Finishing chapter 8 taking my total to 23,295 XD.

From about 12k when I first came to FTDBC to now. This forum is really making me so much more productive than I could ever be before :D

Welcome, Rae! Good luck on finishing the damn book!

Monkey, I hope you survive, and come back to FTDBC stronger than ever :D

Congrats on finishing your edits, Lizardmaker!

Sounds like an exciting part of your story, French Maiden! Keep it up!

As for me, I'm two days behind my goal. I'll have to find some time to play catch-up. I spent two days obsessing over and re-writing (and re-writing and re-writing...) the beginning of Lestoor's Chosen. I finally have a beginning that works, with a bit of clean-up, so I suppose it wasn't a waste of two days. 60% through my first round of revisions on that.

Still puzzling over a title. Probably has to be something with "Changeling" in it, and quirky, since it's humorous. :e2writer:

Ok, I'm back in. I do check this thread every day, but I'm pretty much a lurker now. I have settled on one of my book ideas, so I plan to start writing again and hopefully finish by next year. I will have to continue to query The Park, but when I ignore that process, then I'll work on this latest ms.

This book is an apocalyptic novel where a family wakes up one sunny Saturday morning to discover that they are the last family on earth. I began writing this one or two years ago and wrote around 17,000 words. When I start writing a book, it is mostly dialogue. Then I go back and fill in everything else. So when I look at this ms where it stands right now, all I'm seeing is dialogue. I'll go through what I've written and add in everything else that's needed. Then I'll get to the revision and rewrite stage. I expect to be there by late spring, early summer.

Can't give you a word count tonight, as I was still organizing thoughts, but I'll try to check in nightly with those wonderful counts. The sig has been updated to include the new novel.

Congrats on the completion, elindsen!

Welcome, RaePot. If you stick with this thread, it can really help you.

Good luck with your new project, David.

My stats: added 400 words to the MG novel. Hoping to finish chapter 14 by end of the day tomorrow, to stay on my writing calendar.

Thanks for the welcomes! I've kept to my schedule and goal so far (admittedly its only been 3 days, excluding my break for Christmas), but a routine is proving healthy.

I have been a busy little bee researching the Slavic Vedmak for a new character in my WIP.
Just loving where it is taking me, all the possibilities, coming up with new subplots. It's becoming a real adventure to write.

I got a call from my Travel Agent this morning at 11:00 (After being awake for 10 minutes :p) Telling me that my cruise has been cancelled*ARGH!!*
So I had to go over there to sort it all out.

Walking back from the complex (not unlike a Mall I guess) after getting things sorted, I passed a park with beautiful tall eucalypt gum trees, gallahs and cockatoos squaking in the branches, so much bird life it's amazing.
I saw a large, hairy man walking a long haired Chihuahua. I was just casually watching everything around me when inspiration struck!

I've been contemplating my chapter 9, suck on how to execute it. Thanks to the park and the over weight man with his dog, I think I now have it sorted.
I've now got a new character, new sub-plots, and a new POV.

I always find it amazing when things hit me out of no where, completelly unrelated to my surroundings.

Loving it!

I'm glad something good came from your messed up travel plans! Sorry about the cruise, though.

Congrats on everyone's progress.

I finished chapter 14! Two more to go.

Well this looks like a cheerful room :D Count me in!

I'm trying to get back in to a project I carelessly let go of about six months ago, so I'm currently in the process of editing what I have (mostly to get familiar with the plot again!) and re-researching my outlines etc. So wordcounts are going to be low for me for the first week or two.

Current Project:

"No Title" :p YA Novel
Current Wordcount: 33,000 words

This weeks goal: Get outlines, character bios reorganised & updated. Edit to current point (33,000)

Welcome rialrees.

This room is not only super cheerful, it's also wonderfully helpful.
Gives me such motivation and determination to go on.

Enjoy getting back into writing and goodluck with the goals :)

Somewhere.
Haven't posted in this thread in awhile.

Went on vacation for a week, got no writing done. And unfortunately, because I still have a chapter (plus epilogue) to write, I'm not getting done before 2012.

However, my characters did things I didn't expect. One of the protagonists firmly jumped off the slippery slope and one of the antagonists proved he wasn't as much of an asshat as I planned him to be.

So a productive day.

Welcome, rialrees. Hope you like it here.

Nice to see you, joeyc. Glad your characters are surprising you! I shall have to remember the term "asshat."

Speaking of surprises, I got a New Year's Eve surprise: another round of edits on Green Light Delivery showed up in my email. These are due back Jan. 20. Puts an interesting spin on the month! (Grimace.) Still hoping to finish drafting the new novel within ten days. Helps that I'm off from teaching between semesters right now. We shall see.
