By the way, DomesticImp, I saw your thread about submitting something for the first time. I just casually looked at the thread.

Sending something out for the first time is a little scary. A lot of people are so scared of the prospect of being rejected that they never do so. So, give yourself a little pat on the back for being brave enough to put something you wrote out there.

I kept the first rejection I ever got; a blue postcard from Houghton Mifflin. I'm kind of proud of it; it means I was at least willing to take the risk, knowing full-well what the answer would probably be. A rejection doesn't mean anything in the long run. You hear stories all the time about some famous writer who got rejected thirty times before being accepted. The latest version involves Rowlings and Harry Potter and how many times that story was rejected.

So, congratulations, whether your story is accepted or not.
Thank you!
I didn't see Imp's thread, but congrats. And hope it finds a good home. Good luck! :)
Thank you too!

More big news on the Domestic Imp front:
Wolf applied for his dream job a cpl of wks ago. It's more pay, less hrs, and in a location that we can afford to buy our first home.

AND, as a bonus, the weather is much milder, which means that it's better for me...cold weather + RSD = pain flares.

HE GOT CALLED FOR AN INTERVIEW TODAY!!!

Wooooo hooooo!

He goes for the interview on Thurs. Praying this happens...it's honestly a perfect set up, in all ways for us.

Prayer sent, fingers crossed, and let us know how it goes for him.

When I saw your post, I had to stop my capering through the threads and reply. :)

 I learned something new today. I always thought the Superbowl had to do with bowling. Thanks, Syd!

Common mistake. Truly, the name Superbowl was given back in the early 1800's when basketball was created. Back then they lobbed heads of lettuce into a large bowl and from that bowl they made a salad that was, super.

That gave me an idea for what to bring to the Superbowl party. I wonder how good lychees would taste with hot wings...

This is such a good idea I can't just leave it in your reppie message.

If you're preparing something that's hot and tangy, like buffalo wings, the sweet, aromatic taste of the lychees would be a perfect counter-balance.

Swachski, you're a genius for thinking that up! I'm so going to make that a dish. :)

PS. Holding thumbs for you and Wolf, Imp.

Don't give the lychees wings!

They will fly away!

And then how will we I eat them?

Enjoying your holiday, Cliff? Wenching and all that? :evil

I hardly ever wench any more. ;)

And the holiday is alright so far. Except once again I've reminded myself that I have nothing to talk about with my dad. I can actually have conversations with my stepmum, but with dad it's more like, he'll talk a lot and I'll just add, "Yeah"s and "Oh, right"s and "Ah, okay"s a lot...

*shrug* I've never been able to hold a conversation with my dad before, so I shouldn't be surprised. At most, if I have something to say then we reverse roles.

...

I fell off the wagon today, and had a beer while playing pool at the club. Whoops. First alcoholic drink in about 2-3 months. And hopefully the last for a while, too.

Good evening homedogs. I am back from work. I am happy.

And yes Rose :) I was joking. But it sounded kind of true, I thought :)

Hi Sydney, glad you came home from work happy. It's always nice when that happens.

So now we know Superbowl has nothing to do with an unfortunate lettuce that became salad. I must say it did sound true and could not resist the urge to Google it later. I was suitably enlightened, smiled and had no urge whatsoever to thump the lovely Sydney.
