Sympathies, NF, cars should not need maintenance. DAMN YOU, ENTROPY!!!

Thank you, it is a horrible, horrible thing. Son looked at it today, but couldn't fix it. It might be the EGR valve, whatever that is. He didn't have the tools to get it off. :/ Not even sure it that's the problem, but it sounds like it could cause what's happening with my car. *shrug*

It's also running very hot, but the check engine light isn't coming on nor is it showing that it's overheating on my gauge.

Most of my family are men and no one knows a dang thing about cars.

They get harder and harder to work on all the time. Need the computer hook-up just to know what's wrong.

The "check engine" light went on in my car in November, and when I took it in they told me it was a transmission issue that would cost between 1200 and 2900 dollars to fix.

I stalled until last month, when it wouldn't pass smog because of the engine light, then took it to my neighbor's shop in search of a cheap fix.

A secondary brake pedal sensor was unplugged, which screwed up the transmission(overdrive).

Plugged it in, drove it for a while, light went off.

SHEESH!

Thanks Susie. :Hug2: It'll be cheap or it won't be at all. lol! Then I guess it's feet to concrete time. :O

ETA: Thanks Duchess. Cars don't bite only non-running cars bite, and well all the expense that comes with keeping them running and legal...er...yeah
