aw! Sure, I'd be happy to go play with puppies in your basement, Ted!

wait, is this a trap? I'm so light-headed from the heat I can't think straight. You almost had me with that one, Ted.

Whaaa? I'm so maligned. I hope you get to feeling better. I would never go in your neck of the woods in the summer time. Of course, I can't see you up here in the winter, either.

Me neither, I hate the winter.

Okay, I have to get up at 5:30 and return to retail hell, so I guess I should at least try to sleep.

It's so hot here I'm going to have to sleep with no....

covers.

:D goodnight hounds. :hi:

Google is being especially useless today (though my search terms probably have some involvement in that) and the Hounds seem to be the best people to ask - anyone remember an incident where a boy (I'm thinking twelve or thirteen, from memory) encountered an obese ghost of a man, using two walking sticks, on the stairs of his home? I know it turned up in one of the cheap "World's Greatest" books back in the 90s (and a big hardback version with a white cover and a bloody blade), but has it been documented elsewhere? The name which keeps popping into my head is Daniel Webster, but I'm sure it is wrong...

I'm drawing blanks with peeps elsewhere. I think it was London, but given that I can barely remember what I am meant to be doing precisely at this moment... Yeah. Not the best day I have ever had.

Daniel Webster is one of the most famous US Senators of all times (and popularized in The Devil and Daniel Webster), so not him.

Daniel Lambert - which is the name I think you're after - was a notoriously large man, who often had a walking stick. No mention of him being a ghost at any point, but I think that's where those elements might have come from. Though there is a play featuring his ghost. (So say the Wiki gods.)

All I got at the moment.

Like I said, my brain is misfiring all over the place - it figures that something I made a shitty little note of (literally half a dozen handwritten words) to fill in a plot point at a later date would be one of the things which refused to jiggle itself free from the recess of my mind...

What's wrong with sleeping without clothes on? :(

See, you can get away with a comment like that. Most folks just raise their eyebrows and they begin to imagine things. If I were to say something like that, the reactions just wouldn't be the same, and I'm sure they would struggle to avoid imagining a man of my stature rolling around naked on a bed at night.

What's worse are those nights when I can't sleep and I come back online. People would then be lead to wonder if I got dressed before I came back online or what I sitting at my computer naked and typing a message to them.

This is why I just tell people I sleep in flannel, this way they don't picture things, and it is far more brain-friendly.

Hey Soapy :)

The only flannel I own is a skimpy lingere cut one. Its supposed to be like a 'mountain girl' sexy thing...

Er, so I got a 3 lb bucket of fruit tonight. So much for waiting to buy groceries until I move but I cannot eat one more sandwich or pile of bland spaghetti noodles. Sooooooo worth the $15.00. Fresh mellons and strawberries and grapes and mmm...

Its pretty cute with little spaghetti straps, empire waist cut and cuts off mid thigh with bows on the straps. :D

Heck yeah they do! It is absolutely delicious. Worth every penny.

What are you up to tonight?

I have returned from a very long day traveling to an out of town party. And now I have the munchies in a big way.

*hunts down a bucket of carrots*

Carrots are yummy, but fruit is better. Neener neener neener!

Most people I know here have flannel sheets for the winter since they so much warmer than regular cotton ones. I prefer my cotton sheets and don't much like flannel in general... but the nightie is cute. :) Its Christmas colors.
