No, I get a lot of my Transformer avvies from DeviantArt.

My Optimus July 4th avvie was an internet find

Do I get Nerd Mom points for introducing my son to Transformers?

Hmm. Yes, for an introduction to the franchise, but... Michael Bay.

There's so much wrong with those films that it takes me all my energy to sit through them without shouting profanities at the screen.

Well, it's what I got right now.

Netflix might have some stuff but I don't know where to start.

You do get points. You can start with

Transformers Generation 1, but avoid the animated movie, it will crush you and your kids. I'm still battling the emotional scars from it.

If you have the channel The Hub Transformers Prime is there season 1 is now on DVD season 2 about half over but running reruns for the summer.

Starting next week The Hub will be airing Transformers Animated, not very good but still worth the viewing.

Peter Cullen is the one true and only voice of Optimus and same for Frank Welker Megatron.

I know I'm not meant to like Armada (and everyone gives me the stink-eye when I compliment it) but between the clean artwork, witty scripts, clear audio mix and the overall packaging, I can't help myself. Yeah, I know... It isn't a patch on G1, but it is so entertaining that it deserves better than the reputation it seems to have.

I appreciate the attempts at new Transformers but for met Hasbro shot themselves in the foot with Transformers The Movie. It shattered the G1 series and alienated so many fans.

Beast Wars- mediocre
Aramda-respectable so-so
Animated-Meh

Interesting side note, they're now airing that on the The Hub with a brand new voice over at the end so fans will know what is to follow in the G1 series. They tried to save it but the damage was done

ETA: Transformers Prime needs to bring Skywarp and Thundercracker in as well as Prowl, the Terror Twins and Ironhide

The exact centre of all of existence
I used to love Transformers. Not sure which one it was... Early 90s or so, cartoon?

I had a bunch of the toys, too. I loved making big Transformers out of a bunch of little ones. :D

One toy I didn't have, and sorely wanted, was the Decepticon who turns into a tape deck and plays messages. <3

Ugh, I don't remember much about it now.

Soundwave. You could actually buy cassettes which worked with the original toy (the G1 version) though it was very cheap looking. There was a while (up until around 1993 or 1994) when you could still pick up copies for a reasonable price in good condition. Nowadays? Good luck with that...

Hmm... Not sure on the color redesigns. I only had around a dozen before I discovered the (much cheaper, for some reason) oversized Voltron figures. And then I fell in love with the M*A*S*K playsets... (of course, nobody remembers those as they were terrible)

*waits on Regdog*

Cliff the Autobot you're thinking of is Communications Officer Blaster. His cassettes were Eject, Rewind, Ramhorn and Steeljaw.

You have to check out the Transformers Prime version of Soundwave. Awesome!!!

And I might add, back to my usual Transformer awesomeness today :)
