Huh. Read that, and...I honestly don't see how that would help at all. I guess if someone is feeling really depressed about their marketing it might be nice to daydream about all the people who'd love it, but it doesn't seem any more relevant than "Have a cup of coffee and cheer up" would be. Maybe I'm missing something.
Well here's how I used it... I did the exercise and then made a list of all of the different kinds of people who I saw in the exercise. Now I am looking for ways to reach each one and it's really opened my eyes to who my targets are... I determined that I have 5 different segments of readers. I just did online searches for them and figured three ways to reach one of them. It was mindbending for me. But I am really serious about getting my book out there though and I am looking for ways to get an edge on myself so I can get it out there.
I signed up for his free membership and got two interviews with bestselling authors... not one sales pitch... so far his stuff has been great and he is giving away some valuable things... best I can tell.
I'm beginning to wonder if you're spamming us. When you were last here back in April, introducing 'PMA Toolkit book marketing integration' into an uninterested thread, you were signing your posts "Sue".
Anyone reading this conversation has been around the internet a good bit. I'm sure they can come to a conclusion based on that, and the tone of your posts here.
But feel free to prove me wrong: range more widely around AW. Introduce yourself in the New Members area; join conversations; ask some questions for which you don't have the answers off of some website or other. Maybe crit others' work, or participate in threads in whatever genre-specific rooms suit your writing. Talk politics, talk crafts, make jokes. Find the secret room and see what they do in there. Listen. Talk. Interact.
