National Pony Writing Month is coming up again.
I failed last time (actually, I fail every time I try to do a writing month) but I'm going to try again!

This is the first I've seen of Season 3 spoilers. I am excited about the return of Trixie and Luna, as well as potentially seeing Octavia voiced.
I kindof already have a mental idea of a personality for Octavia due to the many, MANY octyxscratch fics I read, so hopefully that doesn't get dashed against the rocks like an oncoming wave...

I think of it as a kind of rite of passage for bronies... If you can get past that fic and not run screaming every time Pinkie comes on the screen you're doing well

Indeed. Nothing about fanfic appeals to me. I'm sure there's some clever stuff out there that's well-written, but I'm just going to stick to the show, tyvm.
(In general, I have an allergy to fanfic.)

lol, the fact that the SAW franchise has been in existence for so long disturbs me. Gore and porn are two very popular things.

Cartoon violence (that is, cartoon characters exposed to extreme violence, rather than Tom & Jerry escalations of violent encounters) goes back a long, long way, and the more recent resurgence - as in the Saw franchise or whatever - is part of a magnificent tradition. Look upon these as following in the footsteps of the Le Théâtre du Grand-Guignol and it makes complete sense - it is a pressure valve being released, with no danger to the performers or audience.

Of all the books to inspire someone to write a story about Ponyville, 1984 was pretty near the bottom. I love MLP:FIM, but I just can't get into the fan-fics or pics. I enjoy the meme text on screen caps, but that's about it.

Ah, maybe they originally ordered 13 episodes into production, then will start on another 13 after a break to make a full season.
