Hey all!

So basically I'm fairly new here, and I have a load of poems (well OK, five) that I consider finished that I'd love some feedback on - but also hopefully are encouraging to read. They're on my blog (http://www.reflectric.com/?tag=Poem) - but I don't want this to seem like I'm self-promoting or anything, so I can post them here (below or in individual threads) if people want. That said, feel free to explore :)

God Bless

Welcome to AW. We're glad to have you.

Poetry sharing rightly goes in the poetry room (password: citrus). Many members, myself included, won't click on unknown links. Just letting you know.

Thanks, that's a fair point - I just didn't want to overwhelm the poetry board with four or five Christian poems all at once, and all written by me, so it made sense to me to scout it out here first. Maybe I should post them spread over a period of a few weeks or something?

Hi simonalexander2005,

If you'd like some poetry critiqued come on over to the poetry forum. Some members will only offer a critique after you have offered a critique on one or two poems yourself. It's not a big deal actually, its done to encourage participation.
You'll get a warm welcome and some honest feedback.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have hung around there before, sharing some of my work and offering some critique - but I wasn't sure of the etiquette of dumping a load of (potentially specialised) stuff there all in one go. I've pm'd a mod there anyway, so we'll see what they say.

(ETA - we cross posted.)

Hi simonalexander2005,

I'm relatively new but I've found the poetry critique forum to be friendly, honest, helpful, and open minded. I started by critting an established poet's poem! (eek?) but it was welcomed, and that was encouraging.

I seriously doubt if the fact your poems are Christian will make any difference to anyone. You'll receive honest feedback on the poems you post, but you will have more response if you've read and commented on some others' work before you post yours.

Probably one at a time would be best too; four or five at once from anyone would be a lot!

Hope to see you over there.
