The W1S1 Short Fiction Check-in Lounge and Bar
Well, now that we have our very own sub-forum, we need a place where we can nonchalantly hang out and look cool.
This be it. (pirate speak is definitely cool. Just in case anybody was wondering) Feel free to furnish the place with whatever. Meanwhile, i'm porting across the AW W1S1 Hall of Fame from the social group to our new forum. (oh, and even if you're not W1S1-ing, feel free to hang out with us. Writerly company is cool)

Woohoo. Our own subforum. So much easier to keep up with posts here than in the social group (which I always forget to check.)
Cheers. First rounds on me. |

Congrats to Izz. Write 1 Sub 1 definitely deserves its own subforum. And it's going to be awesome.

That's what you get for being all organized and such.
Very cool, though.

--btw, mac has me chained to a boiler in the mod room. send for help, quick!-- And this is going to be an awesome subforum. Perhaps the most awesome subforum of all subforums. It's highly possible its awesomeness will become so large it'll blot out the sun. And the moon and stars. This subforum will be so awesome it'll become the new universe. Of course, it can only be that awesome because it has such awesome peeps hanging out in it. That's right. That's you, W1S1ers (and anybody else who happens to want to hang here; we're pretty inclusive). You're awesome. I salute you!

Sorry I was not much of a drinking companion last night, Sagana. I'd already been alone in the bar for 5 hrs before you got here I'm not sure, but I think I may have lost some time last night. ![]() Quote:

Good stuff Matt and Shelley.
Give editors no choice but to buy your stories.

So, how's everyone's W1S1 week going?
I've got a story draft done (which'll be posted in SYW within the next couple days), and i'm currently contemplating what i'm going to work on tonight.

This is the first story I've written in years that's grown (substantially) longer in revision. I'm not sure if that means I'm learning new things or regressing. Guess there's not much to do besides finish it now, go back next week (after drafting that week's story), edit it, and see if it sells.

If I write 10 short stories before the end of this month, I'll have caught up I think... :P Or gone over. I can't tell. How many should we have (for weekly?) ?
Aaahhhh... I'm lost in novel-writing land where nothing ever gets finished! I miss you, short stories! |

I've been distracted by computer warnings:
hard drive failure is imminent... please back up and replace your hard drive... So I've now backed up my hard drive, and I'm debating whether to continue writing today, or to go by a new SATA hard drive (at least I figured out what type I need finally) and then deal with figuring out how to put it in my computer and restore my back up. Writing sounds so much better! But I really would like to replace it before failure, in case something goes wrong with my backup and I need to redo it. sigh... Beyond that, I'm looking forward to the Game of Thrones premiere tonight ( I won't be writing during that!). On a more writing related note, I'm in the first third of two different short stories right now, and I'm trying to stop myself from brainstorming new ideas until I finish them (or at least one of them) since I've already piled up three more I want to write.

I have about 100 handwritten words tonight. And it was like pulling teeth to get them. I'm gonna try for some more. Even if they're crappy ones
I have to keep moving on this one.
