October Writing Prompt

'Tis the season for cute and fluffy things to reveal their true nature! There are two options, for those out there who hate animals (or like them too much to turn them into zombies).

1) Undead pets. Zombie kittens, vampire puppies, ghostly gerbils and more. Children will never look at Tibbles in quite the same way again.

or...

2) Evil party decorations. Why do balloons hover there, watching you? Do streamers hang around in groups so they can plot revenge? Something's not right at the party.

or...

3) Bonus points for including both undead pets and evil party decorations.

Hmmm, my day job is a children's party planner. I can tell you for a fact, there are evil party decorations. I have a real fear of balloons popping. Kind of a bad line of work for a balloonapoppaphobic person. I fear them.... There is no cure. Don't get me started about that time I spent in college as a clown. Balloon animals...shudder...

I'm struggling with this one, folks. I got about 750 words written but I'm not sure I like them. I'll do some crits for other folks and see what I think.

Way to go for those who've posted!

I stayed up late and finished my story. It probably stinks because I was tired and after reading it over this morning, it's not quite as coherent as I believed it to be.

Or maybe the zombie kittens did something to it.

Anyway, my use of the prompts is pretty subtle, so you may not like it.

But if you have time, go over and tell me what you think of it. I love feedback, as long as you play nice. Honesty is tolerated.

Thanks for the prompts, Polenth. This one challenged me a great deal.

I'm nervous, because I've never submitted anything here... and because I don't usually produce writing for prompts... and it's been a while since the writing was flowing freely...

But I'm going to give it a go!

Howdy everyone!

Haven't been in around in a while, what with a bnb (brand new baby) in the house. Count me in! Haven't written a new story since Thunder Jumper and have been waiting for the October Prompt!

You want undead? You got it. I'm locked, loaded, and full of holy water.

(wait. I meant coffee. full of coffee)

And congrats on the bnb, Anthony!

I doubt I'll get time to write something for the prompt this month (though maybe next month, as I plan to do shorts/picture books after my adult novel is done). But I've been reading them all and will leave a few comments as I can. Yay for zombie kittens!

Okay, I too struggled a bit with this one. I get extra bonus points I guess, I included both prompt ideas. I'm posting my monthly prompt now in Children's SYW. If you wish leave me a crit or comment. It's just another story from Mikey's World.

Thanks Polenth for the prompt ideas, it was fun!!!
