If any of you all are in glorious Brooklyn on Thursday April 19, we're having the book launch party for my YA fantasy, The Wrong Sword.

A character interview is a fun idea. ^_^ Though I did get a bit confused because at first I thought he was a rat (small and furry). But he's not, right?

You can always make a list of questions (what you know about yourself) for the person to answer back. They will answer what they know. This is good for short stories. That way you can interview an artist and they can tell you their motivation. You can lastly make a character that is not an artist and use that as a motivation for a character to move the story forward.
