Wow. I didn't know this guy's name until today, but his Narnia covers really helped bring that world to life for me.

So I'm sad to see that Leo Dillon is dead, and I hope he rests in peace :/

Oh no! His work was beautiful. It was rare too, to see a husband and wife team up in the way they did with their art. They created some great things together.

He and Diane did covers for Harlan Ellison, Madeleine L'Engle, Ray Bradbury ...
Leo Dillon was the first African-American to win the Caldecott Medal.
