I am a resident of Commack with experience writing articles for newsletters.

I am interested in your position but I have some questions. How are stories assigned? How many stories would I be expected to do in a week? What is the time commitment for meetings and dinners? Also, you have not included information on how to apply for a position within your post.

Hello Debbie,

I want to appologize to you, I must have missed the email which indicated someone responded to the post.

There is a lot of freedom with the task, stories are not assigned, the writer, such as yourself, choosed the news items to be written about. As far as how many, usually 1 per week right now. And the meetings and dinners are just for fun and are optional. It just gives us all some time to get together here and there.

Thank you for getting back to me. In reading some of the articles on your site, I was wondering if the writers are compiling information gained from other news sources on topics that interest them. I ask, because I am uncertain how else a writer might become aware of a story if the story were not assigned.

Are their length requirements for the articles?
