He's an amazing performer and he was awesome tonight.

That's not opinion, that's a fact, in my opinion.

Thank you.
While I'd much rather listen to Evanescene over Prince, I don't think Evanescene would be appropriate for the Super Bowl either. Their music is not....'upbeat'....high energy. I didn't think Prince's middle songs were upbeat, high energy either - and that is what I found surprising. For a football game, the Super Bowl, I expected a high octane, upbeat performance. Prince may be an amazing performer and a talented musician, but IMO his music was a little sedate for the Super Bowl.

It wasn’t Prince’s best performance but it was better then loser “I’m bringing sexy back” and last year’s six feet under band.

Best commercial: Connectile Dysfunction for Sprint. Very clever.

Fair enough.

Personally I wanted to see him open with Little Red Corvette go into Let's Go Crazy and then end with 1999.

So, yeah...I was hoping for a different set list, but man he was awesome.

He was going from Lets Go crazy into Dylan into Credence into The Foo Fighters into Purple Rain or something like that.

And compared to the normal crap we see at halftime, he was amazing IMAMOOS.

Thank you

I don't want to start a thread on this, so I'll just ask here.

Anyone know if freezing meat will kill Ecoli?

So, if I'm cooking meat that was frozen in my freezer, I don't have to worry that any Ecoli that was there when I brought it home from the supermarket is still alive when I decide to cook it finally, right?

Thank you.

I think your choices would have made a much more entertaining halftime show.

My husband wasn't really impressed with the set of songs he performed either, but he loves Prince, too, so he didn't really care.

No, freezing meat does NOT kill E.coli. You must cook it to at least 155 degrees F. (some say at least 160).

Ecoli survives being frozen?

It's cryogenically viable?

Are you sure?

From what I've read, freezing meat only slows the microbes, it does not kill them. They go dormant. Once the meat is thawed, the microbes 'come back to life' - become active again.

Well pardon the hell out of me. Next time I'll be more specific so I don't piss Billy off.

Is this better?

I'm not a fan of Prince so I thought the half-time show sucked. It didn't seem very upbeat and I would have liked to see something with more energy. Even if Prince would have had more energy it would have helped. IMO, he didn't sing his best stuff.

Happy now?

Prince is a good guitar player, but other than that, I wasn't impressed. Billy Joel's rendition of the national anthem was lifeless and just plain mediocre.

I enjoyed the game, though. Especially the punt return at the very beginning, even though I was rooting for the Colts.

*Yawn* The same Super Bowl complaints year after year, and they always outnumber any positive remarks.

I barely even watched the Super Bowl last year and I was doing homework while watching this one so I have little basis for comparison, but I did laugh at some of the commercials. Prince's performance was better than that of the Rolling Stones last year (since the show highlights last year were censored lyrics and God-awful tone from an out-of-tune guitar). The game was really good, lots of turnovers.

Since my real name is Colt, it's rather obvious who I was rooting for.

Sorry, but it's not a debatable topic.

The guy is/was amazing.
This is twice in a day I'm agreeing wholeheartedly with Billy, and it's not even 9 a.m. yet here.

(However, that one reviewer refers to the song as "Rolling Down the River." As Crash Davis said, "Godd*mnit I hate it when people get the words wrong," or in this case, the title -- it's Proud Mary, you idiots.)

I love that he didn't stick only with his songs, and ended up doing a couple of numbers that weren't his, that was interesting. And I'd put him above U2 for best Super Bowl halftime ever, certainly much better than puffy-faced Paul McCartney from a few years ago (who was dreadful).

I love Prince.

He is a legend.

I've paid to see him twice. Once in Vegas at the MGM and once in Biloxi, MS. I purchased front-row tickets so my kids, ages 6 and 12 at the time, could see him up close.

He's amazing. For once I agree with Billy. But since I'm older than Billy, admiring Prince was something I've probably done longer.
