I need to make sure my latin's ok for a part of the sci-fi september writing challenge (why yes, yes this is a blatant and shameless plug for SYW and the SF/F krew) and need someone who can read and translate my latin to english for me.

There's a great parody of the "Chant" CD that was a big hit a few years ago. Remember this one ...?

It's by Sandra Boynton and it's called "Grunt"

It's performed by a professional chorus and the premise is that it's a barnyard and all the animals sing (very well!) in Latin - except for the pigs who, of course, sing in pig-Latin.

It's perfectly listenable and we like to play this as background music at parties and see how long it takes (or whether!) people "get it". The Latin scholars pick up on it when they hear:

Ecce Macdonaldus Senex,
qui fundam habet.
E-I-E-I-O.

Et in hoc fundo,
nonnullas boves
domesticas habet.
E-I-E-I-O.
Cum moo moo hic,
cum moo moo ibi.
Hic una moo,
ibi una moo,
ubique una moo moo.

Hint: ("Behold Old Macdonald, who has a farm...")

Non credo quia absurdum est

I just bought a shirt that says this. It means (It better mean) I don't believe because it (that which) is absurd.
