Need advice to publish my book

Lulu would be my choice. There are several threads around here discussing all those you mentioned. Do a search for them and they can help you. And welcome to AW.

If by 'not yet' you mean you still hope to secure a third party publisher you need to hold of on any of these?

You haven't stated if your book is fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or something else. That would be useful to know for anyone trying to give you some advice.

You also haven't indicated if your book was self-published, vanity published, or commercially published in France. That would also be useful to know.

AuthorHouse and Dorrance are both vanity presses. (As is iUniverse.) Your book won't sell well with them, either.

Books Just Books (http://www.booksjustbooks.com/) and Lulu.com are printers. Again, sales will be slow-to-nonexistent (though with a niche non-fiction work still better than you'd do with a novel).

Try looking for agents who represent non-fiction and history. Submit to them according to their guidelines.

Then find small presses that publish history and non-fiction (particularly those that specialize in WWII).

A copy of Writer's Market will be your friend.

Aim high.

Go the agent route. It's a tough slog, and may add six months to a year to your effort, but probably your only ticket to real sales. It may also be there are some publishers specialized in this sort of nonfiction that take direct submissions, but a specialized agent will vastly increase your chances.

Find twenty or thirty nonfiction titles centered on World War II. Google the authors with the word "agent" and you will probably be able to find these agents, that is, ones who have dealt with your field. Query them.

If you yourself have translated from French, and are non-native in English, it would be a good idea to get a good English-speaking beta reader to make sure your translation is on the mark. If it's not, you'll just waste time going out to agents.

Why aim low?

Many non-fiction publishers, even the biggest, don't require agents.

Why not try Yale University Press?

The worst they can do is say "no." Camroc (two books in three years, Amazon sales ranks in the sub-basement) will still be waiting after you've run through everywhere else.

Good for you, mady. Non-fic is especially popular with agents. Go the agent route too.

They make it difficult to buy just one because they aren't in the business of selling numbers to authors--they sell to PUBLISHERS. So, always keep in mind that whoever you buy a single number from: a) will be shown as the PUBLISHER in the U.S. Library of Congress; and b) is selling it to you illegally if they tell you you'll be the publisher instead.

Read this so you understand the consequences. I have been worrying about a number of the legitimate printers for this very reason.

That depends. Are you doing any marketing?

Their site says: "Starter Publishing Package- $55.00 for BOOKS, CD's DVD's etc..."
I'm very wary. ISBN stands for "international standard BOOK number", so if they're trying to sell you one for CD's or DVD's they're pretty much selling you something useless (apart from perhaps audiobooks on CD).

If you really want to self-publish, go to a company that offers an ISBN in the same breath.

They also seem connected to "Aardvark Global Publishing". which adds to my weariness.

Actually I believe Lulu has worked out a deal with Bowkers where they CAN sell the ISBN to YOU and YOU will be listed as the publisher. Or you can buy one from Lulu, and they will be listed. It's completely legitimate.

Bowkers usually sells in blocks of ten, I think.

You could try Andrew Lownie in London (an Agent) who specialises in non Fiction and he replies really quickly. Your book sounds very interesting.
