I am extremely happy to find this little community and I have just a few questions...
I am just now beginning a book and I don't know which thread would be best to pose this question in, but I wanted some opinion on the premise of it; if it sounds interesting or cliche or whatever the case may be. I take criticism very well and welcome every comment anyone has.
The quick synapsis:
*A disease of untraceable origin has broken out in the world. It began in many different locations at once; in Brooklyn, in Leeds, in small villages outside of Manila, in the metropolis of Sydney, in small towns in the American Midwest...
The disease, dubbed The Dark Dawn, causes maniacal outbursts at first, and escalates to outright psychotic rioting and savage killings.
A cure is discovered, and dispersed among the infected. However, the antibody is amplified by intense heat, so it is attached to a series of bombs and dropped on the core infected areas. The governments of the world decide that millions of lives (infected and not) are expendable in order to preserve what is left of the world.
Izzy Noel and Butch Lamb are a couple caught in the aftermath fighting to survive. Izzy is a tough independent young woman, who could have easily survived all on her own after the outbreak. Butch is a highly intelligent, former college football coach, who has a very soft side mixed with his alpha-male confidence and bravado.
At the onslaught of the outbreak, Butch recieves a call from his sons mother, in Ohio, in which she tells him that they are barricaded in her house - the house that he bought and they lived in together - but that she was injured in an attack by infected people.
Together they have to fight across the shambles of the American landscape, to get from Arizona to Cincinnati Ohio, to rescue Butch's year and a half old son.*

to AW! These threads are really just a place to introduce yourself. We have a novel forum and genre forums (not sure if you're going for horror or thriller). Either way, you might find more input there. The best advice I can give is that no one will tell you what to put in your story. It's YOUR story after all.
