Just here to say hi. I'm new. Formerly a reclusive poet. Now finding myself dragged headfirst into and through a novel. No idea where it came from but apparently it has siblings waiting in the wings. So I'm here to say hi.

Nothing else, really. Just testing the waters.

:welcome: Just a note to say welcome to AW. I'm fairly new; I haven't been posting a lot, but I have been reading, especially Bewares (hint: very important thread for the would-be writer!) I have yet to encounter someone on the boards who is less than helpful, less than excited at someone's success, or less than interested in providing the best possible info in regards to any question asked. You're in good hands here. Listen to the advice, check the info on agents before submitting, and pay attention to the questions of others. Do this, and you'll find AW as exciting a place as do I.
If I can ever be of help, just let me know.:hi:

Amazing the way those novels will do it to ya, isn't it? Darn their little hides. I had the same thing happen to me once, and then it dumped me 3/4 of the way through.

Thank you all for the kind welcomes! I've been lurking here for a few days and have enjoyed what I have read. I've come to feel isolated with the writing part of my life (confidence, am I supposed to have that?) and I am in the midst of wretched things happening to good characters currently, so I thought I would try venturing out. Somewhere with people who appreciate my sheer glee at breaking the 20000 word mark with plenty of story to go and no evil censor breaking in to say "nope, you'll never do it so just quit now."

I feel like I owe you all something more interesting. Let's see...my current goal is to have my first draft done by the end of May? Ummmm, my other job is to watch babies get born? I live in the woods and like it?

Okay, too hard to find something interesting. Thank you for all the hellos. Really. I really feel welcome now. I promise to never feel otherwise. Ever, ever ever.
