Horror Screenwriters?

Hi. I am trying to find some other horror screenwriters to share ideas with. I have written two horror screenplays so far and would like to get really good at it. I have a lot of connections in hollywood and have intrest in my first screenplay already. I am doing a zombie film next and would just like to rap to someone about concepts. If you live in hollywood thats great but we can also do emails. You can just post on here or email me

Hi Jess, and welcome. It sounds like your writing is taking off. There's an actual screen writing forum in here, I'm not the expert on what goes where, but horror is horror. I always enjoy variety and haven't seen any screen-writing posted in the horror SYW. If you posted something you're trying to develop, the worst that could happen is they'd move it to the actual screen-writing area. Anyhow, I'd be curious about developing a few pieces along those lines. In fact, just last night I was watching Night Visions on Chiller channel and was thinking along these lines. So welcome again and enjoy, there's just tons here.

Well the person does not even need to be a screenwriter; just someone that loves horror and would like to bounce ideas off each other.

Then you've come to the right place, Jesse.

If you have something specific you want to talk about, you can either start a new thread here, or post something in this thread. Also, you can take a look through some of the older threads in this forum and bring those back up for discussion. Any way you want to do it is fine.

Except for that thread that had pictures of Haggis cavorting with cats in suggestive poses. I've hidden it in the depths of the forum, where it will languish unseen, forever.

If you do happen to find it, Jess, well...welcome to the Horror Forum.

Cool. I am a cast driver, I drive actors on film sets, and I just got a gig for tomorrow. I am going to be doing a lay out for my new script and will post my ideas in the next few days. Its kind of like that movie/short story re-animator by lovecraft.

I've started work on a screenplay though it's more a supernatural thriller than out and out horror. There is a serial killer in it though.

I posted the first 10 of a screenplay I'm working on, but posted it in Screenplays. It's called 'Unearthed' and I think I flagged it 'Horror - really this time'. It was a few months ago, but anyone is welcome to have a few pot-shots at it!

Welcome to the fray, jesse! I have loads of ideas and will be happy to bounce a few around with you...

I just wanted to tell you zahra that I did stop at the screen writing SYW and found your script. I thought it was interesting like a foreign language, lol. Needless to say, I wouldn't dare attempt a crit, though I will say I was lost with the Jamacans, not the lines, but the way they jumped in the middle out of the blue, and what was going on. And the scene when they find the body, I thought they needed when they first begin talking to explain what they are going to look at. He hears the commotion through the window, goes down, then they are talking like they know what's going on, but I still didn't. These points are probably moot, though, as it's been posted some time now and you've had a great deal of feedback. It looks like it's going to be exciting on the screen with a lot going on.

I'm of the 'show-not-tell' brigade - I like to jump in hitting the ground running. In the scene you mention, the reader/audience doesn't know what's been found, but it surely knows that it is going to find out any moment now...the reader follows the characters, and there it is.

But thanks for looking after all this time.
