Welcome, David. One of my research sources is The Pastern Letters, written in the early
1400's by members of that family living in that part of UK (Paston village and a number of properties including Caister Castle).

Thanks all - We are next to Castle Bytham near Bourne in Lincs - Paston is now part of Peterborough -ironically my real surname is Castle - small world! My Great Great Grand Uncle was the last guy to be hung in Oxford. We Castle's like to be in the swing of things.

You'll have more fun hanging around AW, I think. I had a relative in olden times hanged on Hango Hill in the Isle of Man - for stealing a sheep. If he'd been more moderate and only taken a lamb, he'd have reached Australia before I did. But that would have spoiled it for me. I came this way because there were no other family members here.
