Hah, my dad cloned a rat in college. It turned out fine (And this was the 80s-90s).
He was also part of the team who mapped the first complete human DNA pattern-thing. Now he's down in history.

Wow thanks for the reps, guys (reps for you).

And, DK, I think it is very funny and quite awesome that we were able to have this discussion and disagree without getting angry or upset. Down in TIO you'll find many threads about issues such as abortion or gay/lesbian rights that are nothing but a bunch of finger pointing and childish accusations.

We teens are more mature than the adults... proven once again.

Yeah, I know, because my mom works with some of those companies and I’ve worked in their labs. Cloning a dog is a whole different barrel of fish than cloning a person or a dinosaur. People are very complex organisms, first of all, (MUCH more so than dogs) and there are ethics committees to prevent that sort of thing, second of all. The pigs do not have human hearts – they just have mutations that make human immune systems less likely to reject their organs. Did you know that a clone is (scientifically speaking) no different from a natural identical twin?
