Posting contests are cheap amusement for the nerdier among us.

I'm in. ;D

I don't find it too bleak. Wasn't really that depressing, more just too serious. A little bit of funny would have made it a more enjoyable read.
People could say that about Unwind or The Hunger Games, too. Lots of books (well, Dystopian books of course) deal with bleak themes but in a way that makes them easier to swallow.

I agree with Cer. Sure, the premise is shit-all-happens-and-the-world-sucks, but the story itself was centered around hope and believing in your dreams.

...Which is almost cheesy enough to turn me off of it. (Pssst, Cer, what did you think of the ending?)

Ciera_

Whoa. My traffic records for my Lost fanfiction spike on weekends, understandably, but also on Wednesdays and somewhat Thursdays (Lost eppies come out on Wednesdays)
Funny what a difference that makes. Watching the episode makes people look for fanfiction. That makes sense. I certainly follow that pattern. Just didn't realize how visible the trend was.

Sorry, Race – math problems tend to make me a little overexcited. (Tenderly places her calculator back in her backpack)

I have been debating whether to read FoHaT, Terri, but I hear it’s really dark and I’m not sure I want to read something that bleak.

Oh, its okay. :D I'm studying applied math so I must love it (right? Right!). It is just that I've been working on this one assignment and now I'm a little tired. Not a real problem... :D

Ciera_

I Repped you an answer about the ending so as not to spoil anybody =)
Have you heard anything about a sequel, though? I think it might be better a standalone, more poignant and meaningful that way, but I'd read a sequel.

No sequel for me.

It's over. The end. I hope. Not that I didn't like it, but I think it's powerful as a 'this is all' type book. This is the way the world is.

Ciera_

On fanfiction: I can't stand really AU fanfiction. If they live in L.A. and are private detectives and have never met, then they're hardly Jack and Kate from Lost, are they? Why not just make up your own characters if you're making up a setting and a story?
Oh well. To each his own.
But then there's crossover AU fiction. *growls*

AU? Having painful French class flashbacks...

Ciera_

Yeah, Terri, that's neat. The Hunger Games could have (maybe should have?) been like that, too, but the ending would have to have been done a particular way . . . oh well, I never complain when a good book has a sequel. More for me to read and enjoy.

Ciera_

Oh, Sorry, I shouldn't assume that everyone is as much a fanfiction-reading-loser as me. AU = alternate universe. Non-cannon. They don't follow the storyline of whatever show/book/whatever the fanfic is based on.

I feel very behind. Hi Pazzo! I love your username 0.0 *creeps*
I'm starting to freak out about my shoes. Four-inch heels. Guys, I'm about 5'11". Why did I guy 4 inch heels for my grad. They're gorgeous and easy to walk in, but they put me a head taller than any other person attending this thing, besides my dad.
It's not as though I was going to dance with boys anyway, but I don't want to suddenly be towering over them, not to mention all the girls, too.
My mom talked me into this. It was a bad idea. Oh my god. I can't be that flipping tall. My goddamned mother. 'embrace your height, it's beautiful! Tall girls are gorgeous!'
How would she know, the jealous midget?
shit, shit shit shit. She's not going to let me return those shoes, either.
*continues to freak out*

GOD CIERA YOU COULD BE A MODEL!!!!
I'm sooooooo jealous.
I'm now 5'4.75". I was so happy at the doctor's.

Scottish and Chinese--yeah, most people I know are Jewish and Chinese. I'm different. :)

Ah. Got it. I can see how that would irritate people. Nack in my Twilight fangirl days, I came across one particular FF where Edward was a human war vetera or something and Bella was a bellydancer married to Mike.

It was odd.

omg

Today, my dad got really drunk. When I was about to go to bed, he was just coming out of the bathroom, he was fully naked, I immediately turned away and said "Okay Dad, time for bed". Thinking that I was my mum, he replied with "That's right bitch, I'm your daddy, I'll show you in bed". FML

Today, I was coaching a little league soccer game. I was telling one of my players to go cover another kid. I said "go cover the little yellow kid!" because he happened to be wearing a yellow shirt. He also happened to be Asian. I then got death stares from his family members. FML

Terri--I decided the 20K was no good, so I scrapped all of it, besides the beginning, which I'm re-writing. I haven't gotten around to updating the siggy yet (need to check word counts), so it's probably at 6-7K right now.

On another note, I played a short hymn at church today (as well as a longer one, which I got perfectly right).
Out of the 8 chords in the short one, I got 5 wrong.
The worst part was that my mom wasn't around to hear it and after the service, everyone was like, "Was that your daughter playing the piano?"
And she was very proud of me when she said yes.

Lol your 'ETA' came out 'EAT'
EAT WHAT HR? WHATTTTTT? WHAT ARE YOU EATING???
Chinese and Jewish? Wow. Didn't realize that combo was so common.
I don't think I've ever met a Jew. Seriously. They're not too common around here, especially in my Catholic school. We have every other nationality in spades, though. There are a lot of Middle Eastern people in North Edmonton, actually, and (at my school, at least) Philipinio kids are the second largest majority, after White kids. But no Jews.

MY TUMBLARITY IS 165!!!!!
I've been waiting for this moment. It's like your popularity on Tumblr.
I've escalated from untouchable (tumblarity 0) to normal (165).

I must examine this peculiar phenomenon.
