I actually haven't gotten past the first chapter of Uglies. They describe too much of the gadgets--I was like, who cares?

Ciera_

Oh my god. Fanfiction writers have to be the wackiest, most creative people on Earth. Or they do a lot of drugs. Or both. I mean, listen to this tagline for a story:

What if when Locke moved the wheel, instead of making them stop jumping through time, it turned everyone but him into children? Will he be able to play Mr. Mom to twenty children 10 and under? What will Richard have to say about this? Co-written w/ my pal

0.0 I mean, what the hell! I sort of want to read it, but I'm afraid. It sounds really, really disturbing. Even if you guys don't watch Lost, you have to know how out of nowhere this premise is.
I commend you, crazy fanficker!

'Kay. c: We shall debate. (Or I'll just stare in openmouthed horror. Either one.)

ETA: I loved the entire Uglies series. I guess I just have a fascination for anything dystopian or post-apocalyptic. I Am Legend started it all. (Seriously, I would never have started writing a novel if it were not for that movie.)

Oh God. I was reading the thread about a potential relationship between a teen girl and an older man and I got to the last post and now I must go wash my eyes out with acid. Why would anyone think (what that poster thought)?

Ciera_

Haha, sorry Ter. Not making fun, just reveling in the awesome typo.
If you guys haven't already heard the story of how my field-trip-bound bus passed a McDonald's billboard advertising their new 'ANUS BURGERS'....well, that's the story. You didn't miss much. Still, I have a healthy appreciation for hilarious typos.

It's the thread right under us in the YA forum, Ciera. Just read the last comment. (shudders)

um, peachie, you do realize that i'm asian? (awkward moment there)

Yeah, I know. We were talking about the racist comment your sub made, and I saw that FML, and it was pertinent to the subject of racist comments so I posted it. haha

I looooved the Uglies series. Especially the gadgets 0: Extras was kinda weird, though.

Hey, I just found out what PB&J stands for! It's another way of saying Charlie/Claire, or Chaire, Clarlie, etc. (it stands for Pregnant Babe And Junkie) How sweet!

Mmmm, we're having tacos. Beef never smells better than when taco-seasoned!

DK, is The Sea of Monsters good?

Didn't like Extras. Original trilogy was fab, though. <3

Incest in Inkheart? oO Guess I'm gonna have to reread that one...

ETA:
In my world, Cer, PB&J means peanut butter and jam sandwich. Hope I haven't been accidentally telling people one of my favourite foods is pregnant babe & junkie.

That's so something I would do. Eep.

It’s okay. For some reason I am not liking it as much as The Lighting Thief so far.

And the gadgets were the best part of the Uglies series. You can never have too many gadgets!

ETA: There was no incest! It was a nice little MG book! Do not ruin my childhood reading memories!

Ciera_

Um, does incest really bother you, DK? In fanfiction, it definitely doesn't bother me, usually. In real life, it absolutely squicks me. In original fiction it bothers me a bit. I'm a picky critter.
Lol PB&J is, of course, a combo of delicious spreads for a sammich. But the acronym lends itself to other things easily.
I miss Charlie so much! And I wish he'd come back and still be a junkie, because junkie charlie was so interesting and dynamic!
If you guys've seen the season 5 finale, it looks plausible that Charlie may be back next season! It's probably all up to Dominic, now. I'm sure if he wanted to they'd have him back in a heartbeat, but maybe he's too good for us, now.
Hey, have you guys seen Stefani around lately? Haven't seen her in a very long time. Talk of Charlie reminded me of her.

Ohhh. Okay. :)

Wtf.
My tumblarity dropped from 174 to 138 in 10 minutes.
I am now a semi-normal kid who does the html programming for her friends' myspace layouts in her free time.

Yes, especially if it’s parent-child incest (cousin-cousin incest I could probably stomach if I had to, and I don’t really count it as incest if the people involved don’t know they are related). I’m not sure why, though – very little else bothers me when it comes to sex. If people want to get it on with their relations, that's okay - I just don't want to read about it. :tongue

And I never knew PB&J could stand for something other than a sandwich, ha ha.

Ah yes, remember the whole preggers thing?

My mom barely got a wink of sleep for months after having me.

Course, I was pre-mature and she had to be on hand in case my lung stopped working...

Ciera_

EverythingInBlak, was her full username, right? I'm not worried. People just move on from forums sometimes. It happens. Definitely not indicative of some crisis or danger or anything. I'm sure she's fine and happy and pregnant, just kind of away from us.

There is something extra squicky about mom/son, father/daughter, or father/son, mother/daughter incest...

Like, the age factor added just makes me want to shove my head under my pillows.

But siblings and cousins?

More palpitate.

And heck, its not even dangerous anymore: Using birth control, you can pork pretty much anyone and not screw up the genetics.

Mental health is another question though...
