Hey girls!!! I just wanted to pop in and say after 3 long nights I have TDC 2nd draft done. Whoo-hoo Yayayayaya for sleep :)

Nice! I really have to finish Love Square. I'm 29K in. Most of that is probably going to be rewritten tho. I'm kind of not writing.. mostly editing. Is that bad?

personal life experience: I once tripped over a guys school bag (i wasn't watching where I was going and didnt see it on the floor) and literally fell into his arms (of course accidentally slamming both of us into the lockers ;) ). eye stare followed as we were both shocked holding on to one another.

That is super sweet! I so wish that could have happened to me!

In other news, I posted a new blurb on my blog! Ch-Ch-Check it out! The Double Life of a Geek and a Heartbreaker

I kinda mostly 'just edit' too. Sometimes I feel a little spark and work on my new projects :)

I'll admit, I've over extended myself beta-wise. I have Chan's, Bobcat's, Amy's in my inbox. I WILL get them done and I will read TDC!!!!!!!!

JAMIE! I demand more LTM!

K. :) I feel awful that I haven't read more of COFF yet. I'm getting to the point where I will just read and be done with LTM - I can't wait for that - couple days and it will be ready to query!

I know how you feel with the beta thing! But I recently lost one of mine, so I'm only reading two now.

Is it bad that I am sending my work out to betas when it's unfinished? I thought that it could help me along the way, seeing if I established the characters and plot well so later parts fit better together. But now I hardly have time to finish the next chapters to send, and I feel bad for having my betas wait for me....

Thanks guys...er gals

I like to be creative, call it paranormal or fantasy, and I love a good tense romantic plot underlying the whole story without overwhelming the main story. I'm working on a 60K YA I think would be called a paranormal romance.

A new concept I am struggling with of late is understanding how to take feedback but stay grounded in what I believe would be interesting to a YA. My worry and fears are causing me doubt in my writing.

Has anyone else felt this way?

I feel the same way AAAALL the time. But, I think you need to write what you like, what moves you, then use the feedback you think you can live with while still lovin what it is you wrote in the first place. <--uh, maybe that is retarded. I'm in a weird mood today. Dont sweat it. <--there that's better, no? LOL

OPWFT

So banned books week ends on Sunday. That's six days left, counting today. So far I think four of us have expressed interest in doing something to celebrate some of our favourite banned books. Either a series of individual posts or a group post (To Kill a Mocking Bird, Are you There God? It's me, Margaret, A Wrinkle in Time, and the Harry Potter series have all been claimed -- if I left anyone out, I'm sorry).

Do we have a verdict on what we're doing? Do any other OPWFT contributors want to get in on the action?

(has only been a contributor for three days and imagines everyone's already sick of her)

Haha, I appreciate your stamina. We were all this pumped back in July. Then I guess the "new" wore off or something, lol.

Yeah, we could each do a blurb on what a banned book as meant to us. I can talk about my experiences teaching Of Mice and Men and the students reaciton to it being banned, and then I'll also talk of my love for TKMB...oh, I'm about to start Huck Finn in mid October with my Juniors...and Catcher in the Rye later on...

This is where you might run into trouble with me. It's not so much that I'm pumped, more that my day job has a large marketing component to it.
