Posted a small teaser (with video clip) for Banned books week on OPWFT. http://oldpeoplewritingforteens.wordpress.com/2009/09/29/celebrating-the-freedom-to-read/

This way those that want to post about it have a lead in/context. Hope that's okay.

WOW - you're on fire. You're going to think we're a bunch of slackers I'm afraid. :( I'll start putting something together about HP tonight. Are we doing 1 big post? Or just individual ones?

Lol, yeah I'm (sorta) back from the dead. School... IS. Annoyingly so. How's the querying going? :)

Querying is going to start up again for the one I just finished! I'm starting today I think! How about you? What's going on in writing world?

Nah. I know everyone's busy. I just think Banned Books week is a great opportunity to generate posts and blog traffic (yes, I am a huge geek). PLus, I have to do something. Everyone else seems to do these great interviews (how do you get those?)

I don't think we came to a consensus on the format. It depends on what you guys woudl like. I can contribute a short snip but I can also write a longer one. Either is fine with me.

Hola, everyone. :)

I'm starting to get nervous. As an agented writer, should I stop posting teasers? Or at least long teasers?

I wouldn't post long teasers. Could you ask your agent? I'd be tempted to see what her/his opinion is.

Asking your agent is a good idea. I'm sure she'll say it's okay. All the blog entries I've read have generalized that teasers are fine. After all, they build publicity for your book. :)

Not that you want to post large swaths of stuff that's going to be published, but I don't think anyone does that anyway.

OPWFT

So banned books week ends on Sunday. That's six days left, counting today. So far I think four of us have expressed interest in doing something to celebrate some of our favourite banned books. Either a series of individual posts or a group post (To Kill a Mocking Bird, Are you There God? It's me, Margaret, A Wrinkle in Time, and the Harry Potter series have all been claimed -- if I left anyone out, I'm sorry).

Do we have a verdict on what we're doing? Do any other OPWFT contributors want to get in on the action?

(has only been a contributor for three days and imagines everyone's already sick of her)

I read Slaughterhouse 5 because someone banned it. Not sure why. It was good though. I don't do that kind of sci-fi though.

I read His Dark Materials because the Catholic Defense League (or whatever their name is) told me not to.

I'm a rebel.
