People really should mind their own business. Cancer is not something to talk lightly about. And definitely not in front of kids.

Margaret and I go way back; I’ve known her since the fifth grade. Margaret was cool and worldly—worldly compared to me, at any rate. I was just a Canadian kid in a town with a whopping population of 9,929. Margaret was from New York and her parents didn’t practice any religion. Her Dad was born Jewish and her Mom was born Christian but they said she could pick her own religion when she was older. How cool was that? She also knew all about periods—sorry, menstroo-ation. Thank God. My mom had tried to tell me about it, once. It wasn’t the most effective talk. If Margaret hadn’t taken me under her wing, I would have fainted dead away at the first sight of red. Margaret also helped convince me I wasn’t a total perv for sneaking my mom’s Art of Michelangelo book up to my room to look at David.

Debating admitting the Michelangelo thing. It's a bit embarrassing.

KATHLEEN - that's brilliant! Now how can I make Harry as great as Margaret? Told ya - you're going to think we're lame. *sigh* At least you'll kick us in gear and bring it to a whole new level!

I'm fainting right now after reading Chan's post saying I have plotting skill. WHEW...just what I lacked most in my last two according to agents. GOOD NEWS!

Hey guys.

I need some help. How do you address the genre of magical realism in a query?

"[insert title here], my YA magical realism novel" sounds wrong. Is it?

Could you say "my young adult novel with elements of magical realism"

Unless you can find that genre on the agent's list of preferred, don't use it.

lol I think you give me too much credit.

Actually, I think I'm sort of plagiarizing myself. I meant to write a post like this for a book review community on livejournal when I first learned about it being on the banned books list. Can't, for the life of me, remember if I wrote the post or not.

I should actually try to start getting more active in that community again. It had a couple thousand members.

I'm back. Thanks for all the good wishes.

He is resting and in bed. The ketamine combined with the morphine made him sick. He was a trooper. He just got his cast off at the end of July, we took it easy for a month and he returned to normal play beginning of Sept. I was in bed still kinda sick and not paying attention. They had on footed pajamas and were dragging each other through the house and he fell. (breaking the no running and rough play in the house rule). Broke the same arm, same two bones, just in different places. Argh. Thing is, we just got the final bill from last time :(. At least insurance didn't refuse any of the charges so we should be okay this time.

ETA: I couldn't get the stupid QLH link in my siggy.

I lost my momentum and am now struggling to write the last scene in order to accomplish my goal of writing the entire chapter 8 today! Thinking it is time for notebook in bed!

kids will be kids when mom's back is turned ;) glad he's okay.

as for the siggie, its been awhile but I think you need to highlight a word and add a hyperlink...not sure they let you put link directly (and every letter in your link counts toward the limit they allow your siggie)
