Well, if I counted stuff/absolute shit I wrote when I was younger, I'd probably have about 20......dude, I had some heinous Danielle Steel knockoffs! LOL

Sigh, I just realized I have to work the football game tonight....ugh, just wanna go home and sleep. Well, I guess I should look at it as more money towards my Wii or shopping trip, lol!!!

My ideas just float 'round, formless, vague, until I can do something with them. There is horror somewhere in my mind, maybe a MG tale too. Something dystopian and something literary also.

Oh I was going to use voodoo stuff in Perspective but couldn't find much info I wanted to use... It's still something I may revisit for a sequel...

I looked up voodoo/zombies too, once. It didn't quite fit what I wanted, but was interesting. Anyone remember that movie The Serpent and The Rainbow set in Haiti? Creeppppyyyyyy...

Oh, and hubby wants to go see Paranormal Activity really badly. Um, hello--everyone who sees it says they have to sleep with the lights on afterwards, or can't sleep at all! I'm already a big weenie bc my mom used to drag me to horror movies when I was young and scarred me for life, lol. NO WAY am I going to see that!

Haha, a teacher buddy of mine lives alone, and she wouldn't even stay by herself!!! HEr and another buddy had to stay together in the same bedroom, lol!!!

Oh, and one more thing--i just found out I got accepted into a workshop I applied for in December:

I'm SO excited--AND totally nervous. Apparently it's a ratio of 5 faculty to 1 student, helping you ~~tear apart~~ improve your manuscript all weekend--MEEP! Agents from a really good agency will be there, editors, and authors. Now, I have to go make sure I've read books they've repped/pubbed/written!

I read that--very interesting and cool of him to post. Also cool of NB to put a link on his blog about it. I noted he said to still get agented first, but it might not be a bad idea to think about.

I've kicked around the idea of testing out Amazon with something just to see what happens. Try a little self promoting.

I'm not even looking at a preview of that. I slept with my lights on for a month after seeing The Ring. The first week after, I had someone stay over! I don't do horror very well. Also, I got freaked out with the ghosts in The Summoning. Srsly, I suck!

You mean, self-pub something first? I think agents still frown on that--bc it helps them marketing-wise to list you as a debut novelist.

I know, I'm really excited! And nervous! I mean, it's pretty much an immersion weekend--you eat all of your meals with everyone, and spend every second working on your writing and manuscript. I'm thinking major frustration, tears, etc. Lol. But I'm really eager to make my ms better, so this should help.

That was definitely interesting. I'm a Kindle owner, and I will completely agree that price motivates which books I buy for Kindle and which I try to get at the library. If it's not much cheaper than the print book, I won't buy it, unless I'm totally desperate (which probably means you're a best-selling author and my 1 buy doesn't matter at all). I almost always go for the $2 or less books with high ratings, especially if I've heard of them.

Great for self-publishing, but only if you already have a fanbase. Great for the profit margins, but only if you sell the books cheaper. What we need are more readers. Maybe, possibly, if ebook readers become as prevalent as iPods, and even cheaper where you can get one from Wally Word for 20$, maybe people will start picking them up on whims, and start reading if the books are cheap, so all around you save money. Of course that relies on the belief that people don't read as much cause the books costs money and not for other reasons...

@CommonReactor, I have a Sony Reader Pocket Edition, and price is important to me too, along with how much I like the book and if I want a HC. I bought Levianthan for 13$, when the HC was cheaper. Seriously, if they want ebook readers to succeed, prices need to be cheaper than the hard copies. And the ebook readers need to be cheaper too.

Edit:
On an off-note, seriously, my local library needs to get some ebooks, since my sony can read them.

@CupofDice (ooohhh, I've never used that terminology before, *is lame!*), my husband and I share our Kindle. He's had it for around 3 months now, because I keep getting books at the library. But, sometimes I just want to read DarkFever on the Kindle!

We need another one, but you're right. I'm not gonna pay $200 for one when I know they'll either come out with a new one or drop the price or both sometime soon. In general, I have a rule where I will not spend more than $10 on a Kindle book, and usually I won't even spend that. Plus, I comparison shop in the UK. Recently, it's been a lot cheaper just to order the book in the UK than some of the Kindle editions!

WHOA. I only have about 10 book folders, but I keep a journal specifically for when I have a SNI. I can't start anymore until I finish all of these. At least, that's what I'm telling myself.
