I had a crush on Trillian from Hitch-hiker's the first read through. Now, not so much. Thought Fenchurch was too plastic to bother crushing.

Most of my crushes are TV characters (as opposed to the actresses, who are good looking, but I don't know enough about their real personalities to crush), so I guess that still counts as fictional crushes...

Let's start with Joss Whedon's characters... virtually all the females. Buffy, then Willow, then Anya, then Dawn (honest, she's my age, so it's alright!), then Fred. Never had a thing for Joyce or Cordelia - both attractive in their own way, but I didn't like their personalities much. Well-written, but not for me. :)

Sabrina the teenage witch... okay, that's mostly physical, the character was kind of annoying.

The chick from the Matrix, in the first movie at least.

Boy, I could go on and on, and you know it's all going to be SF/F characters! :D

Captain Wentworth from Persuasion, hence my name.

Professor Snape from Harry Potter, although that mostly happened after Alan Rickman was in the movie.

And Dimitri Belikov from Vampire Academy series.

And probably Claudio from Much Ado About Nothing.

Really? I prefer Benedick.

Claudio never fought for Hero, either when he thought Don Pedro had proposed to her--as Don Juan told him--or when it seemed that Hero was fooling around with one of known liar Don Juan's men. He never once gave her the benefit of the doubt.

At least Benedick, once he realized he loved Beatrice, stood by her and believed her declaration of her cousin's innocence over what seemed to be.

Sorry--favorite play, two term papers.

Well, true. Benedick was more steadfast than Claudio, but I guess I was more thinking Claudio's initial infatuation with Hero and how sweet he was before Don John's interference.

Rain Tairen Soul from Lord of the Fading Lands. Actually I'd probably take any of the Fey, but if I had my pick Rain would be it. Just...wow. He could come claim me any day.

Oh, yeah! And The Marquis De Carabas! Thanks for reminding me of Neverwhere, Sarah W. ^_~
And Silas, from the Graveyard Book.

What can I say, Neil writes the best characters for crushing on.

I didn't crush on book Marquis but I totally crushed on Paterson Joseph in the mini-series (which I saw after reading the book).

Yeah, same with me. I don't think I've ever crushed on a book character... I may like them a lot, may think they're frakkin' awesome, but that's where it ends. When it comes to TV characters though, <3 Willow forever. Pity she's gay :( Ah well, Kaylee isn't though :D

I hesitate to say that I love him. [Audience member: I do]. You do? This is a very worrying thing. Are you thinking about Alan Rickman or about Snape?...Girls, stop going for the bad guy. Go for a nice man in the first place. It took me 35 years to learn that, but I am giving you that nugget free, right now, at the beginning of your love lives...Why do you love him? Why do people love Snape? I do not understand this. Again, it’s bad boy syndrome, isn’t it? It’s very depressing.

Wow....I love JK Rowling all the more now. I wish more women would realize this. But alas...nice guys finish last, all my past relationships have proved this.

I agree with the other guys who said no particular book crushes. But I have actress or TV crushes. Maybe its because of the way women fantasize in the mental and guys in the visual? Dunno...

From books I would say... I really liked Ginny Weasley for some reason. Not her physical description so much but her personality. And in the movies Hermione...though thats more physical....

I've got all the books. Don't make me break out the quotations! :D He is charming in a filthy sort of a way, I guess. PS My condolences on the smelly boyfriends *passes over a stick of Old Spice in sympathy*
My husband just bought home a take out curry - he has no idea why I'm laughing! *rubs old spice over him*

Can I add to my list a crush that I am far to old for - Guy from 'Willow' (Julia Hoban). Such a sensitive thing, nothing like the boys I met at that age! I fell for him from his first scene

Umm, I'm pretty sure they already had Jeremy Irons play him in The Colour of Magic :D

I have a bit of a thing for Garret Grey, the MC of my trunked fantasy novel. He rocks so hard. Pity his book doesn't (yet). ;)

Also, The Gunslinger/Roland Deschain of S King's Dark Tower series, Artemis Entreri from RA Salvatore's Drizzt series, and Xyla from A Reaper's Tale - The Undecided (out soon, see sig!) :D

I have a ridiculous infatuation with Eric Northman, from Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse novels... He's all dangerous and deadly, but he's sweet and sexy at the same time!

And Dimitri Belikov. I hate to say that I've fallen hook, line, and sinker for America's new vampire craze.

I adored Prince Orasmyn from Napoli's Beast, especially before he was cursed. My love for the character carried me all the way through that book, which, at times, moved more slowly than I usually like.

My two biggest crushes both have names that start with A's, have red hair, are magical in some way, and can kill me 17 times with their bare hands and their assorted weapons.

I never noticed this before.

(Alanna from the Tamora Perice books and Annah from Planescape Torment)
