Wow! I'm not the only one! :)

I admit to being a Snape fangirl. If JK didn't want people crushing on him she shouldn't have made him so incredibly interesting and mysterious.

Aragorn and Faramir from LOTR as well as Feanor from The Silmarillion.

Marcus Cole from Babylon 5.

Daniel Jackson from Stargate SG-1.

Paul Atreides from Dune and Leto II in the miniseries. (<3 James McAvoy.)

For serious.

I get what she was saying about not going for the bad boys, but that only applies to real life, IMO. There's a whole different set of rules for fantasy life. The most intriguing character gets my attention, always. There's no way I would be attracted to a real life Snape, but I put all my chips on the Potter-World Snape, and he did not let me down.

LOL! True. For fictional character and/or celebrity crushes, you don't need to apply real-world rules. Which is good. But I think JK's point is that for younger girls who might not have figured out the distinction yet, it's bad news bears if they're crushing on Snape and Malfoy Jr and Sr :D

What about not-so-younger-girls who crush on Snape and Malfoy Sr.? Say, 30-40-something girls?

Fascinating, that Snape is the leader of the crush pack here. Especially given how hard JKR worked to make him physically unattractive.

I don't have a crush on Snape, but I do think he's the best realized and most tragic character in the series. Snape lives and dies with his own twisted integrity, while even Harry fails on several points of character and follow-through (um, what part of Unforgivable Curse did certain people not understand? And if one does what's Unforgivable, ought there not to be some consequences, sheesh?)

The last two books, which give Snape's backstory, lessen the mystery, hugely up the pathos. Beautifully done, for the most part (I'm not going to snark about the messed-up order of the "prank" and the "worst memory" now.) James Potter, bah. He comes out looking like such a jerk (or dimwit) I have no clue what Lily saw in him.

And, hey, you Snape fangirls. Check out Into the Fold by pasi on fanfiction.net or Fiction Alley. Best canon Snape fanfic out there.

As long as they aren't out in the real world looking for their very own emotionally unavailable mean grouchypants/evil mustache-twirling douche, I think it is healthy. IRL everyone deserves the Harrys and Rons and Nevilles of the world. The Cedrics too, I suppose, but watch out if they turn all cold and sparkly. That's danger! :D

Oh gosh, if we're including TV characters, then mine is Jim Halpert from The Office. him.

I will also admit I am Team Jasper, Team Legolas AND Team Weasley Twins. I think I covered all my fangirl bases there... but now you all know I am secretly 14 years old.

Eric Taylor, in Friday Night Lights is SO crushable. What's great about him is he's a good guy, but not perfect--so even those who normally go for the 'bad' boy, could like him. (doesn't hurt that he's great to look at too!)

The WEIRDEST thing happened to me today. I'm at work, this guy comes in. He's like 6'5, long dark hair in a pony tail, and has absolutely the best body I have ever seen. And I'm sitting there thinking, "Oh my God, he is the living, breathing version of a character in my book." Which, coincidentally, is the one I would crush on.

It was so bizarre. I'm glad I didn't actually reach out and touch him--tempted as I was. Hehe.

Lucky!

This only happens to me when I'm writing about little old ladies with blue hair and basso profundo voices . . .

Perhaps I should start writing about Gary Sinese? ;)

Just finished reading Ill Wind. You can now add David the Djinn to my list of fictional crushes.

Williams Gibson's Rose/Molly/Sally character from Johnny Mnemonic, Neuromancer and Mona Lisa Overdrive.

Speaking of which, I haven't read Mona Lisa Overdrive in years....might be time to pull it off the shelf.

I have too many movie/tv show crushes so I'm not even going to go there.

Jason Schuyler from the Anita Blake series (and like four others but he's the number one)
Drake Vireo from the Aisling Grey books
Jace from The Mortal Instruments Trilogy

Seriously, I could go on and on. But I'll stop with one from my own WIP. I have a girl crush on my MC in VDGP.

Kaylee from Firefly? NOM NOM NOM

Firefly is full of yumminess, no matter what one's personal preferences might be. Actually, I think most of Joss Whedon's shows are like that.

I don't think there was a male character on Serenity (the ship) that I didn't have at least a small crush on, up to and including Book--kind man, mysterious past with hints of major power, weight lifter, what's not to like?--although the doctor got on my nerves a bit. Pretty rich boys aren't my thing.

Mal from Firefly. Yummm. And Inara: Eye candy for all genders.

Kaylee's cute as a button. Her near-twin sister is Cally on Battlestar. They even do the same job!

Inside, up the stairs and to the left.
1) Kartik from Libba Bray's Gemma Doyle trilogy. Mysterious, conflicted, hot as hell...yeah.

2) This one is weird, but I think I had a mini-crush on Heathcliff throughout Wuthering Heights. Yes, he's terrible and despicable, I know, but good grief - what an awful early childhood he had. Doesn't remove all the blame, but still. I was a little infatuated with him.

3) Odysseus. If a man that hot, that strong and that skilled in battle spent all those years fighting to come home to me...:D

4) Spike from Buffy. 'Nuff said.

You forgot smart. Oh and would the fact that he cheated on you with multiple women while you remained faithful matter? Just asking.:tongue

^In Runaway's defense, he only cheated on her with two very demanding goddesses. You don't turn down the divine. They have lightning bolts.
