oh wow that's interesting
so you can't fully write out y----- or E-l-Sh-ddai either?

Correct, and neither should you probably.

I would actually never even write the abbreviation for the Tetragrammaton (the first name you have there), as it is His actual name. It's not as bad writing it in English letters, but writing it in Hebrew would be problematic.

On a computer screen, it's not as big a deal because the issue is not with actually writing it, it's with using the names carelessly. Writing the names on paper or something where it could get destroyed or defaced by being taken into the bathroom or something is the problem. The same is with saying them--saying them carelessly outside of prayer or reading the Torah is disrespectful.

And even then, we don't even say the Tetragrammaton. It's too holy of a name for us to say it. You wouldn't call your professor by his first name, so why would you speak the name of G-d like its nothing?

I'm about to turn off the computer and head to the liquor store before Shabbos. Have a good weekend, all. :)

I'll have to ponder it on the drive home.

How about venison? :D

I seen me a mess a prairie goat today.

(There should be a picture of antelope here. If not, Imageshack is flaking out on me again.)

Yesterday there were about a hundred of them, today I only saw about sixty.

Step into my nightmare
Surfing the web while Return to House on Haunted Hill plays and listening to my husband, 2 stepkids and 3 dogs snore. I need to put the earphones in and listen to anything else to drown them out.

Thinking about cracking open these Corona I just got for free. One of the few perks of working at a gas station/carry out. When someone breaks a case of bottles.... sometimes the manager tells me to throw the rest away! Thats crazy talk! I put them in a bag and take them home. I'm perfectly happy with a 5 pack if its free. :D

Cracking various joints before I start my (hopefully) final edit, then send the MS off to my editor for her approval/mockery. :D

Ugh, that was a terribly written sentence. I'm leaving it unedited, as it amuses me. :D
