Revisit old blog posts

I do that sometimes to, for cleansing. You can even direct old posts to new ones which have something in common. Or share your old posts with new people, like retweet them on Twitter. I have found out that people go through old posts anyway, and sometimes leave a message so there's not a worry there.

I have all my comments emailed to me so I know when new ones appear.

Thanks to Google, nothing's ever completely gone but I sometimes go back and edit or delete old blog posts if they're not needed or I'm no longer the person who typed them, or if I said something in the heat of the moment which isn't appropriate.

I've not tampered with anything I've ever posted in a meaningful way. I'll fix spelling mistakes or obvious errors, but the statements stand as they did when I wrote them - even if people are offended by the sentiments.

I'll revise spelling or grammar errors, and occasionally clean up a sloppy sentence, but never to change the meaning.

Wordpress puts all the latest comments on the dashboard, in the order they're received, so even comments to old posts are obvious. Askiment and WP-Ban kills most of the spam, but once a week or so one sneaks through. They're usually generic statements like "Very well written, good point" or "I like this blog and will visit often," with no direct link in the text, but a link on the name to some spam crap site.

That's me too. I don't let my keyboard write a check my ass can't cash.

I also never delete or modify comments that address the posts I've written. I only delete spam.

Do I have some posts I'm more proud of than others? Sure, but that's the way it goes.

I have my comments emailed to me as well. Also, its a great idea to twitter old posts or link to them from related message boards and such.
