I got an e-mail from Bookwhirl.com today, offering to help me market my book. I'm not sure where they got my name, the book title, or my e-mail address. I've posted a synopsis in SYW, sans title, but can think of few other places where they could find my e-mail address. Admittedly, it's my "junk" or public e-mail, not the one I give to family and close friends.

I printed the book well over a year ago, no ISBN, for family and friends, but have not published it. That printed copy did not have my e-mail address.

I'm currently almost through revisions in an attempt to find an agent/publisher. So, I'm just curious. Who are these people and how did they find my book?

Thanks, Veinglory. It always amazes me how much information they can piece together from various websites.

After receiving many phone calls from BookWhirl, I decided to not stick money towards them. One reason is from what I have learned here, and another reason is their terrible phone system which sounds as if it's being bounced through a concert speaker system a half mile away. It was like this on three phone calls. That in itself lowered the professionalism level way down in my eyes.
