I have a friend who is trying to learn more about scriptwriting. He has a lot of good ideas but they all seem to turn out the same (tone, voice, etc.). He knows these are problems that he has as a writer and wants to fix them. As he explains it to me, "I want to make this story more adult (grown up) but it always ends up like a disney film"
I try giving him examples of how he can do things within the script but I normally just end up telling him how I would do it. I know that he basically needs to work on his writing technique and stuff like that but I don't know what to tell him.
I have gone online and found some "Creative Writing Exercises". I know these will help with the whole creative writing aspect but I would like to give him something more geared to scriptwriting.
Any ideas?
